ABC Cancels Conservative Tim Allen Sitcom 'Last Man Standing' Despite Strong Ratings
The show’s cancellation appeared to come as a surprise to fans, as its ratings had reportedly been solid, as Daily Wire’s John Nolte noted. Last Man Standing averaged 6.4 million viewers in its final season and a 1.2 rating amongst adults 18-49, strong numbers for a Friday night comedy. But Deadline also notes that Last Man Standing was down just 5 percent this season, a stellar result when compared with other shows were generally down by as much as 20-30 percent. The show was also reportedly performing extraordinarily well in syndication.Posted by gerardvanderleun at May 15, 2017 10:41 AMEven more surprising, the cancellation comes after ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said at a London media summit in December that broadcast networks were not paying enough attention to the television viewers in the country who helped elect Donald Trump president.

NOT FUNNY: too TRUE.
Of course they cancelled it;
once the Left Fascists get enough money,
all they care about - in an onanistic way -
is POWER and CONTROL.
NOTHING else matters.
Yet somehow "Madame Secretariat" continues, I suppose in the hope that Hillary can take another shot in 2020. "The View" and that Coldburt dweed at night are not cancelled despite low ratings.
I watch old movies and read old books, like the Bible, and I have a better grasp of what is going on that than people who sniff every red herring on cable news.
Posted by: mushroom at May 15, 2017 2:39 PMNever watched the show but have seen a commercial about it and the doods (Allen) a giant cuck just like he was in his last show which I did watch a couple times but could barely stand it.
TV is mostly done for.
In 10 years there will be no abc, cbs, nbc.
That "word" indicates you are not a serious person.
Posted by: pbird at May 15, 2017 6:50 PMThis is the network's response to Tim Allen's contention that "Being a conservative in Hollywood is like living in '30s Germany." Guess they refuted that one, all right.
And ghost, if reality had any sway over popular culture, television would have been "done for" 40 years ago. Surely you haven't been watching it all that time?
Posted by: Rob De Witt at May 15, 2017 7:11 PMOf course they cancelled it. It lampoons all the essential stupidity of the Progressive Narrative. That can not be allowed.
Remember, the Left is doubling down to push La Resistance, and spending OPM (those money laundering nouveau riche Party Cadree who have to get their fake money OUT before its too late, somewhere, anywhere- and you can only buy so many crumbling suburban homes in Vancouver, and overpriced apartments in NY)...so now its movie studios...
Posted by: foodog at May 15, 2017 9:43 PMLets see if Netflix programming can grow a pair and pick up the next season. I'd watch it there.
Of course, with the recent additions of 90% pathetically pandering to the left stupidity in their "Original" new shows, it may be a stretch...
think "Diversity"... you know, old white guys, are the New Black...
hey it worked for slutty lesbos in prison, right?
Posted by: foodog at May 15, 2017 9:47 PMWe watch maybe an hour a day, at suppertime, and it's mostly stuff we have purchased or rented. Last night for example was the 2nd episode of the 1st season of "Game of Thrones", which I'm not really liking much, and the last 10 mins of Jeopardy.
Night before was 2 back to back episodes of "Zane Gray Theater" from the late 50's early 60's. Night before that was the 8th episode of the 1st season of "Gunsmoke", black n white.
Getting ready to purchase the 1st 2 seasons of "Death Valley Days".
My wife checks out the weather each day but other than that, yes, network TV is dead around these parts. All we have is a MOTU Leaf antenna and now that the real leaves are in full bloom it barely works.
There's almost always something more engaging to do than sit on the ass staring at other people doing retarded things, like the cuck Tim Allen.
Posted by: ghostsniper at May 16, 2017 4:11 AMGhost, I beg your pardon. Please don't call Tim Allen a cuck even if he is one. In the clip, he just defended common sense and mentioned God! On TV in the 21st century. I note that you have great taste = choices in Gunsmoke and Death Valley Days. Are Death Valley Days the ones with the long bearded host? And Gunsmoke was the #1 TV show for years. I have gone back and watched all the b&w episodes on YouTube. For years it was a 30 minute show that crammed in an hours worth of entertainment. Can't imagine how people back in that day had to wait 6 days 23 1/2 hours for another fix.
Posted by: ostinato at May 16, 2017 6:56 AMHis cuckness wore thin 20 years ago, now it is just ignorable. He doesn't get to mention god and common sense and make his errors disappear. The damage is done.
We have all the Gunsmoke seasons that have been released so far, up through the 12th season, I think 1968. CBS is taking it's time releasing them.
Though we recently purchased the first 2 seasons of Death Valley it appears the episodes are jumbled around and don't match the line up I've found online. The ones we have so far have been narrated by *The Old Ranger* and research indicates he was the longest host of the show. Ronald Reagan was the last host, before he became governor of Cal and when Death Valley went off the air.
We have 3 DVD players in the living room with an old series in each and a Sony bluray HD player for streaming occasionally and playing newer types of DVD's.
A year ago I replied to a solicitation from DISH to try to woo us back and I replied thusly:
If you can provide me the exact 20 channels I want for $1 each per month and no logo's in the corners and no pop-ups ever, and nothing more, I'll sign a 5 year contract with you right now. They never replied back.
Doubtful any TV service will ever see my money again. They'll go under first before they apply logic and reason to their business model. All of them have went way out of their way to piss off their customers.
Posted by: ghostsniper at May 16, 2017 9:26 AMThat was funny. Tim's a good guy, and leaning forward into a tacking wind.
I was at the airport, looking at Drudge on my iPad, and noticed it doesn't appear in the history. The airport has listed it as "non-compliant." As if it were a marginal and out of sync website, instead of the number one news source in America. Hard to see things like that when your head's up your fifth point of contact.
Don't get me started on how easy it'd be to fix air travel. Who are these idiots that work as executives in the air industry? Liberalism is a form of brain decay, straight up.
