Even if you are a staunch Marxist professor at a college, or a loyal devotee of Ayn Randian classical liberalism,
no matter how badly the RINO offered by the establishment Republican disagrees with you on ten percent of your policy positions, he does not disagree with you one hundred and ten percent, and while he might harm the nation through corruption, or foolery, he is not actively and energetically hellbent on dismantling and destroying the nation. He does not hate and loathe the Nation, nor does he seek the death of you and yours through war and plague and famine.
The Democrats apparently do, to judge by their actions. If you believe these are honest men who merely have a different theory of political economics than you, explain their unwavering support for terrorism, for sodomy, for voter fraud, for legalizing recreational drug use, for blocking education reform, and their fanatical, nay, diabolical support for tax-funded prenatal infanticide. 99 more reasons @ John C. Neither, and all.
I'll live by my own terms or not at all.
There will be a lot of arguments for not voting today. The single most popular is "I'm going to stand on my principles." I'm not alone in saying, "Fine, stand on your principles but by doing so you have just forfeited your prerogative to bitch about the country going to hell in a handbasket. Further, you are the reason the country is going to hell in said handbasket. If you want to stand on your self-righteous principles why don't you at least wait until the GOP's midterms AFTER they are running the table? Just wait until you can vote a conservative over a RINO. If you don't vote today, you have given your tacit approval of a statist/marxist/socialist/communist/power-grubbing, power-mad, leftist who stands with The Won who wants to take down America." So, go ahead, fool, stand on your principles.
Posted by: AbigailAdams at November 4, 2014 12:20 PMI was signing in to vote today, listening to the poll-workers exchange witty repartee about how "We're all Democrats here, ain't life grand?" This was after, by the way, insisting that the poll worker examine my voters' registration card after she happily claimed that nobody needed one. The room screeched to an echoing silence when I responded to the "We're all Democrats" giggle with "Not all of us." These middle-aged well-to-do women had never met anybody who disagreed with them.
THAT'S why you vote, boys. There are still huge numbers of people who think they're intellectuals because they get all their opinions from NPR. Seeing a normal person in the flesh is bound to make a difference.
Posted by: Rob De Witt at November 4, 2014 6:05 PMI voted.
Posted by: TmjUtah at November 4, 2014 6:52 PMYeah.
Hmm, "conservatives"? Like the asswipes in '94? You know, the contract on amerika? How 'bout St Ronald the Fraudulent? Now there was an ACTOR! Yeah, talked alot bout this n that, but when it came to doing anything, well, it was still talk. But heh - got those solar panels off'n the white house, now didn't he? As for the Grace Commission, well....
Oh, I know - more recently the tea party freshman - 2/3s didn't even make it to inauguration before becoming those they claimed to despise - the rest waited a couple months longer.
And all those tuff talkin' governors - yeah.
Point is, only those who REFUSE to vote have the right to "complain", for only they refuse to endorse insanity. You know the definition of insanity, don't you?
Go on, vote for your evil - and wallow in it.
Posted by: itor at November 4, 2014 8:12 PMI take it you live on a distant planet.
Posted by: Van der Leun at November 4, 2014 8:49 PMPoint is, only those who REFUSE to vote have the right to "complain"......
Yup. Spend the rest of your life thumpin yer chest and braggin about how you sucked Obama's dick in Macy's window, just to get yer point across.
That'll show 'em.
Posted by: Rob De Witt at November 4, 2014 9:10 PMHey itor -- Sleep tight, laddie. Your darlin', Harry Reid, can now do even more of nothing in the Senate.
Posted by: AbigailAdams at November 4, 2014 9:44 PMitor: you talk like a sausage.
Posted by: chasmatic at November 4, 2014 10:38 PMNice results. I voted and was happy to see what happened. Not a McConnell fan by any stretch, but it was good to see his jowls shudder at the mike. The euphoria should not obscure the stark fact that dangerous subversives still have the keys. Last nights results will only embolden the operatives to get their licks in. As others have mentioned recently, watch out.
Posted by: Will at November 5, 2014 5:50 AMIt is time to understand that voting is the end of the election cycle. Voting is what happens after you find a candidate that you can support and help them work the process to get on the ballot.
Voting happens after the signature gathering and going door to door to promote that person you can agree with and support, then following through to get them through the primary elections.
If you can't find that person, that may be your clue to run for office yourself.
There are not only two or three choices in an election. There are potentially 316 million potential candidates simply because elections start way before the final vote. Don't like the "choices offered" each and every time? Then you should have gotten involved earlier in the process instead of bitching about it later.
Posted by: mike at November 5, 2014 1:15 PMOh, and why does pajama boy look like he is cupping obama's balls?
Posted by: mike at November 5, 2014 2:42 PMBecause he can and because they are his sole source of nutrition?
Posted by: Van der Leun at November 5, 2014 8:06 PMgarbage out...garbage in. One year from now, Obamacare will still be with us, all the illegals (plus another million) will still be here, and the Republiscams will be about to raise the debt limit by another $2,000,000,000,000. You neo-conz are just gluttons for punishment
