Muslim? Silly Rabbits, Obama Has But One God....

.... and it isn't Jahweh, Jesus, or Allah.

Growing Number of Americans Say Obama is a Muslim

But, as noted at Spengler | A First Things Blog

"All that is beside the point. That Obama has a deep personal sympathy for Islam is beyond doubt. The President takes every opportunity to emphasize it. But he is not a Muslim, only the thrice-abandoned child and step-child of Muslims and an anthropologist mother who deeply sympathized with the struggle of Muslims to resist globalization. He has a deep antipathy to the American view of things, insisting that "American exceptinalism" is no different than "Greek exceptionalism." He belongs neither to the United States, nor to the Muslim world; he is a gifted outsider with a talent for persuasion who profiled Americans the way anthropologist profile primitive tribes, and in a variant of the old adventure-movie script, made himself our king.

"President Obama Is Not Even A Muslim" by David P. Goldman at Spengler Blog on Thu Aug 19, 2010

Ultimately he belongs nowhere. He is not even a Muslim."

Unfortunately, he is somewhere. In our White House.

The poster should read,"Wanted, Dead or Alive" for dismantling America!

He told Stephanopoulos he was a Muslim, and I believe him.

Here's my take on it, copied from an email to my family:

First, I do not believe Obama is a Muslim. In order for him to be Muslim, he would have to believe in God (a higher power than him) and my impression is he's pretty godless apart from himself. I think he has Muslim sympathies because he is a Leftist and both Islam and the Left are totalitarian ideologies (Allah means Master, whereas the Christian Abba means Daddy). As soon as either one (the Left or Islam) gains dominance in the world by destroying the American system, it will set about destroying the other. For the time-being, they are allied against Americanism rooted in Judeo-Christian values.

Second, he always sucks-up to his audience and feeds his self-regard of his "virtue." Those things he said about Islam were said in front of a Muslim audience. Think about this GZ mosque incident. In front of Muslims he endorses the building of the mosque and points to the "virtue" of religious tolerance he embodies (ha!) and "property rights" (this from a leftist who would confiscate all your property through the force of the state given the chance). The next day he's not so sure about the "wisdom" of the location. Well.

Third, anyone with an affinity for western civilization and its roots in Christendom should shudder at his "mosque" visit in Istanbul. This is the Hagia Sophia which was originally a Byzantine basilica (the largest in the world) until the mid-1500s after the Muslims conquered "Christendom" and converted it into a mosque. Even in the video, you can see the painting of the Holy Mother in one of the half-domes. Islam does not permit figurative art, which is why portrayals of Mohammed are verboten. Apparently, as advanced as Islam is, they haven't figured out a way to reach the dome and erase all signs of its Christian builders.

Last, as a "happy" accident of viewing the YouTube, I came across another example of Obama's disdain for Christianity. In this clip, Obama disses the Bible and the Defense Department's ability to apply Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, not to mention slandering the OT as supporting slavery and the stoning of children! SOMEONE hasn't a clue about the Bible and it ain't Christians.

The problem with Obama isn't that he's Muslim - it's that he isn't American - and I'm not talking about where he was born. I'm talking about his Leftist sensibilities as a sophisticate - a cosmopolitan - a "citizen of the world." He's just not that *into* us (U.S.).

He is a raging narcissist and as such, he shall have no other gods or God before him.

He is, however, a birthright Muslim, according to Islamic law, and if it is true, as the "experts" say, that we are pretty much set by the age of 5, then he is culturally a Muslim as well.

And if you think the Muslim call to prayer is the sweetest sound in the world, I say you are, if nothing else, a well indoctrinated as a Muslim.

Normally, I don't give a fig for what a person believes in his heart, not my business to care. The problem with Obama is that he hasn't shown me he has a heart. And Muslim, Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, or whatever belief, the one thing I do know is he doesn't believe in America and there is nothing about him that indicates that he has the first clue what being an American means. He's a Muslim sympathizer and an antisemitic America hater with a pronounced totalitarian vision for himself. And a classic case of arrested development at the spoiled brat stage.

I love this Drudge headline: White House says Obama is Christian, prays daily...

25% of Americans don't doubt that he prays daily - they just think he does it five times a day pointed toward Mecca with his ass in the air. Ha!

Western Chauvinist

You're right; Obama preys daily. Upon the credulous.

No one that self-absorbed can be other than a true atheist. But the fact is, the population who most thinks he is a Muslim are the Muslim.

Western Chauvinist:
Good comment. That's actually pretty similar to a comment I made at Neo-Neocon earlier tonight (although it looks like you beat me by a couple hours).

If he was a Muslim in the past and now embraces Christianity, then he is classified as apostate and "true believers" in islam are supposed to kill him. Just saying.

I agree that Obama is not an American---at least in his heart. He was jerked around so much as a kid that he never had the chance to "bond" with America (utterly crappy parents and not-much-better grandparents). I can appreciate why he was attracted to Michelle though---her family was strong, with decent parents and a solid father.
My feeling is that Obama wants to drive America into the ground, crash the economy and declare martial low. Scary huh.

if obama really really was a crypto-muslim and radical leftist, would he be doing anything differently?

Byron York says that Obama has a "Muslim problem."

Why is the fact that about one-quarter of the American people believe that Obama is a Muslim a problem? As Seinfeld said of homosexuality: "... not that there's anything wrong with that."

The American leadership - from Bush after 9-11 on - has been at pains to tell us that virtually all Muslims are peaceful and moderate. We have two Muslims in Congress. Why is the White House upset that a growing number of people believe he's Muslim?

We note two things about references to Obama as a Muslim. The Left vehemently denies it and calls it a slur. The Right also denies it and tries to explain the (mis)perception of so many Americans.

Obama supporters point to his professed Christianity from his books. The problems with Obama's professed Christianity is that he was "converted" by a racist, anti-Semitic bigot named Jeremiah Wright whose congregation was harangued with Liberation Theology rants that had more to do with racial hatred than with Christianity. Wright is a Christian like Fred Phelps is a Christian. In other words, they are bigots disguised as clergy.

The Right also states that Obama is a Christian based on exactly the same evidence ... taking Obama's word for it.

People in both camps suggest that Obama joined Wright's church more for political reasons than religious reasons. I concur.

I am of the opinion that Obama has no personal faith in God. I also believe that in his youth he was culturally influenced by Islam. From York' article...
As Obama said, his grandfather was a Muslim. His father was raised a Muslim before becoming, by Obama’s account, “a confirmed atheist.” Obama’s stepfather was a Muslim. His half-sister Maya told the New York Times that her “whole family was Muslim.”

Obama spent two years in a Muslim school in Indonesia and later, in a conversation with the Times’ Nicholas Kristof, described the Arabic call to prayer, the beginning of which he recited by heart, as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”
Most people are imprinted at a very early age into the religion that surrounds them. Many people will tell you they are Christians who never go to church. These people are "cultural Christians" but not people of faith. Obama's personal antipathy toward Country America, his political radicalism and his childhood immersion in a Muslim culture, may not make him an adherent of the Muslim faith, but it may make him more of a cultural Muslim than a cultural Christian.

In the polls we are reading, that may be the driving force behind the way that people are responding to the question about his religion.

I wonder how many Muslim's think Dear Reefer is a Muslim?

The song Nowhere Man comes into my head; believes he's from everywhere, understands everything and everyone, but seems to be a nobody (granted a big overinflated ego), out of touch and from an isolated island.

As far as his belief and value system goes, Christ as collectivist is useful in supporting the secular religions of communism and socialism in America, and Islam does not separate government and religion. Obama seems to like the idea of mixing religion and government, he is in the process of creating a new government/religion for America in the personification of himself. He is using Christianity (defined as collectivist, brother's keeper, etc.) on one side and Islam (also collectivist) on the other to build a bridge to himself as a type of supreme figure, hence the one we were waiting for annunciation.

In my view, the advent of Obama was as much about the culmination of the build up to a mass movement (a la Hoffer) than choosing a man with a plan. The excitement of the active phase of this movement is gone, which is why he is constantly criss crossing the country and putting his face on tv. He's like the Rick Warren or Joel Olsteen of politics. Mass movements that become stagnant make way for other movements. This is a good time for mainline churches to reassert some influence, people are looking again.
