"Let me tell you what the Cubans are really good at,
because they don’t know how to run their economy, they don’t know how to build, they don’t know how to govern a people. What they are really good at is repression. What they are really good at is shutting off information to the Internet and to radio and television and social media. That’s what they’re really good at. And they’re not just good at it domestically, they’re good exporters of these things. And you want to see exhibit A, B, C and D? I’m going to show them to you right now. They have exported repression in real-time, in our hemisphere, right now." -- U.S. Senator for Florida, Marco RubioPosted by gerardvanderleun at February 26, 2014 9:09 AM
Watching Senator Rubio speak brought tears to my eyes. I also wanted to throw-up.
Posted by: Rocky at February 26, 2014 10:43 AMOh my, never happy.
Posted by: vanderleun at February 26, 2014 12:45 PMRubio is better without his "handlers" in the GOP. He needs better advisers around him, b/c when he goes with his heart, he's a better man.
I don't think he's a leader, yet. But that was awesome.
Posted by: Joan of Argghh! at February 26, 2014 1:51 PMThat was great, a spot on critique of Cuba and it's agenda that reminds me of Nigel Farage's
style of honesty. We need and want more of this
passion from the Republicans. If not a American whose heritage is Cuban, then who?
Good stuff.
That speech will be in the history books as under "well intentioned, but much too late to have any effect on preserving the Republic".
