had a cat, always buggin’ me for food- and I always ran out so I’d have to go buy more every couple days. one morning he was licking my face, I was trying to sleep, the cat just wouldn’t leave me alone- I don’t know, I just snapped, ya know… so I taught the SOB to drive.

My kitty starts trilling softly and yet more insistently for food when the first bird begins to sing. Today that was around 5:45AM. He “let” me sleep for another hour or so. He’s tried to train his humans for almost 17 years to do his bidding. I think we must be slow learners. My millennial age daughter shared that sea shanties are officially a thing with her friends this past year. They get together via zoom from their homes scattered around the country each week and sing together and laugh. They evidently are not alone if social media is to be believed.
