You’ve seen it for yourself and you can easily confirm that the media attacks every single thing Trump has done. He’s racist, he’s paranoid, he’s lazy, he’s trying to hide things, he doesn’t know what he’s doing, he’s making political calculations, he’s firing important people, he’s not listening to the people around him. This is Trump’s Hurricane Katrina. PEOPLE WILL DIE!!
That is not reporting; it’s propaganda, and it’s done with a single aim: To keep Trump from being reelected.
The side effect of the media’s political calculation is that it’s destroying the American economy and the world economy. I’m fortunate enough that I can ride out the stock market roller coaster. Many are not so lucky. They are seeing their retirement funds, the ones they wanted to use in six months, being destroyed in real-time. Also, those that are buying into the panic are selling out for pennies on the dollar and may never recover from that.
Businesses are going to go bankrupt and people will lose their jobs — and this is exactly what the media wants. Trump’s strength is the economy so the media will destroy the economy to undercut Trump. This is a declaration of war against the well-being of the American people and there really is only one word for it: EVIL.
I’ve long been disgusted by the media but watching the game-playing with coronavirus has raised my disgust to the same level I feel for mass murderers. Left-wing journalists (which means most of America’s journalists) are committing mass economic murder against the American people. What kind of sick, disgusting, morally-indecent people do that kind of thing? And they’re doing it in the service of Joe Biden! They are destroying the American economy so that Joe Biden — senile, corrupt, perverted, stupid Joe Biden — can be the president….
I don’t have a huge Facebook presence. Maybe a couple of hundred people on the Friends list, and that’s all the bicycling community. The huge majority is pretty level headed. They know the hype is hype, and they recognize that the television stations are responsible. Nonetheless there are signs of panic around here. Last I checked the Next Door app, people are saying the shelves are empty of toilet paper, and bottled water. I haven’t been to the store in a few days, so I haven’t seen it first hand. There is a lot of eye-rolling, and wry humor about it. But enough people are infected with TVPANIC virus that the situation cannot help but to bring about a lot of uneasiness. It’s going to be a stressful few months time ahead of us.

People hear from the media that Trump is bad and must be removed from the White House. Some even “know”, on some level, for reasons that seem to elude explanation, he is bad. But as long as people can go to concerts, enjoy sporting events, attend conventions, and receive a predictably timed refund check, they will never FEEL he is bad. It is vitally important to the Trump Is Bad Movement that the people feel, because feelings can make liars of our sense and our senses.

Here in Mass. I have a Chinese Virus; I bought a Wifi ‘360 security camera’, hooked it up and within an hour of plugging it in and watching the birdfeeder I was being bombarded with attacks on my router from an IP in China.
Good thing I only connected the camera to the closed ‘Guest Network’. But it was probably a mistake to name that network “American Submarine Control Room”. Truly a Spy Camera!

I’ve seen the shelves empty here, although the nearest infection or death is over a hundred miles distant. One only, in my half of the state. Unfortunately, my state is the epicenter otherwise, of US Kung Flu infections and deaths. I am getting vertigo watching the claims of a 5%, 3%, then maybe 1% morbidity rate for this flu. Personally, knock on wood, I expect that cancer would get me before a virus. Then again, I’m not in too bad a health. Pain: yes. health: pretty good.
Bleach, shitwipes, rice, these are empty or nearly empty shelves at several stores here. When gasoline, God forbid, or COFFEE, run out, I am certainly gonna notice.

I admit my bias when I tell you that I’ve got a daughter who is incredibly talented and accomplished in her field. And not the least of her attributes is that she has produced two of the best children on the planet. I just love her to death, but for all of that, she is also very naive. She once had a neighbor who had named his network “FBIVAN#2”. When I mentioned to her that I thought that this was hilarious, she asked me what I meant. I said, “C’mon. ‘FBI Van #2’? Isn’t that funny to you?”. She replied, “Oh. I always thought that network name was for “Facebook Ivan”.

Plenty of toilet paper, Lysol spray, etc., at the supermarket when I was there this morning; however, the local SJW factory shut down two days ago and the mayor (yes, it’s a blue city, why do you ask?) announced today that the public schools will close indefinitely starting tomorrow. Great; that means that the rate of porch piracy and other youthful hijinks will rise faster than the number of cases of COVID-19 (exactly two in the entire state so far).
Another sign of the times: I received an e-mail about 10 minutes ago from my bank, of all places, stating that the bank is taking steps to deal with the virus: “We’re performing enhanced cleaning and sanitizing throughout our banking centers and office locations, and encouraging extra safety and hygiene practices among our bankers.” I understand that Petco and other businesses are doing the same thing, sending out blast e-mails to all and sundry about their latest contributions to public health– never mind the population’s mental health, of course.
The cats are thankfully much wiser than humans, going about their usual round of eating, sleeping, and spying on the neighbors without any visible or audible histrionics. If there’s a feline version of “I got the fear!”, I haven’t seen it.

Well, whaddya know: as of 4 p.m. this afternoon, all MLB Spring Training games are canceled, and Opening Day postponed for at least two weeks. Doesn’t surprise me, as 1) the NHL and Major League Soccer already suspended their seasons, and; 2) the Phillies are (for the first time I can remember) comfortably on top of the Grapefruit League. I suspect a plot on the part of the Evil Empire in the Bronx and That Other Team in Queens.
