Jordan Peterson on leftists: “Well, think again, Sunshine!”

Neoneocon has discovered neo-neocon » Blog Archive Jordan Peterson on leftists: “Well, think again, Sunshine!” “He’s a powerful mind harnessed to a tremendous emotional intensity coupled with an impressive ability to express himself clearly and forcefully.

“Peterson speaks with energy and passion, but he doesn’t often rant (well, not exactly, anyway). However, I think the following short excerpt might qualify as a very fine rant indeed. Does the guy ever even pause to take a breath?”

I couldn’t agree more.
This is a fascinating mind and an important speaker of the truth. His channel is here at (3) Jordan B Peterson – YouTube. To get a longer immersion in this remarkable mind you might try starting with about the first half and hour (or more) of his (3) Biblical Series I: Introduction to the Idea of God – YouTube. He’s not a believer, but he is the best non-believer believer you are likely to come across.

For the record, my 18 year old daughter introduced me to Jordan Peterson. She also patiently explained to me about Howe and Strauss’ fourth turning. Something about me being a nomad and prophet … whatever that means.

Maybe there is hope for the youngsters. Problem is my youngsters were home-schooled … Now they self-educate and I have no idea what they’re talking about.

My daughter, who claims to be atheish, but not a certified Stephen Fry kind of atheist…my daughter has a serious crush on Jordan Peterson. If she keeps binge watching his lectures, she won’t be atheish much longer.

My 21 year old son brought him up a couple months ago. I must have heard a full 24 hours of him since. Excellent mind, that Jordan, my son, not so much but that he at least is seeking information from the Jordan Petersons rather than, say, um, wait…is there a comparable mind on the wicked side?

Because his first words are “Postmodernism…something,” I tuned him out. It’s an association fallacy; Post Modernism is a cultural movement that venns with the Communist, or contemporary, Era only by wafer thin lines of chronology.

    Better apologists, please.

I can make you an argument for the venns of Christianity and Post Modernism. Anyway, PM is over, now. Next slide!

  • Casey Klahn October 19, 2017, 5:24 AM

I miswrote that, because I’m also not the apologist or writer we need. I didn’t mean to say that we’re in the commie era now, or that our contemporary times are “the commie era.” I think communism/socialism are in their dying throws. But, this dude in the vid is talking about Communism, so I mention that. The PM era was about 1970-2010, and you could argue that Communism’s nosedive began about 1990. They overlap in chronology, and intellectuals and politicians (not the same people by any stretch) do adhere to both. It doesn’t make the movements cross-identifiers. They are different things. Logic, FFS.

I went to one of his vids labelled Post Modernism, just to see what he was saying about it, and it was another rant exactly like this one, using PM as a throw away phrase. Just like libs use the phrase “bourgeoisie” in such a fashion that it becomes meaningless. The bourgeoisie were those who lived in the alto or hilltop towns, and were now better somehow than the agrarians who lived on the flats. Let’s make that into a social clash and have a commie revolution. That’s “bourgeoisie.” The libs shittalk the “boooswhahah” when they are running for office, then they shaft the same group all day, every day when they govern. The bourgeoisie is you, BYW. You’re their sworn enemy.

Post Moderne don’t come into it.

Mr. Klahn, check again. He’s against postmodernism. He understands totalitarianism and what leads to it. I consider him at the forefront of wanting to save western civilization. He’s in Canada and fought against bills forcing people to identify others by their gender pronouns. In fact there are videos of him by himself taking on “communists” at his Toronto campus for the purpose of free speech as he’s being humiliated and shouted over. His university fired him and he fought back. I do not think he’s an athiest. He’s got a lot of content and he wants others to be able fight back with articulation and truth. He gets it.

I appreciate your liking his political stances, Grogdaddy, but he’s not got the intellectual chops to drive the nail home. “Post Modernism” is not the ill of our day, and is not synonymous with totalitarianism nor Socialism. If you think it is, how is this so? Explain, please.

When I first started that video, having never heard of that guy, I thought it was pretty basic stuff that people learn about early in life, maybe in 5th or 6th grade. (In 9th grade at Fort Myers Junior High School, Fort Myers, FL all students were required to take a 1 semester course titled “Americanism vs Communism”.) Then I reminded myself that schools when I went are not the same as today – it’s been about 50 years or so since I was in 5th grade, and a lot of downgrading has happened in the schools since. Communism is most likely held in the same light as everything else, just another way of organizing large groups of people – nothing wrong with that. Riiiiight.

Therefore the guys message is probably pretty good for beginners – post modernism aside, but he should provide supporting structure for the points he makes, rather than simply stating a premise and moving on. People are curious creatures and giving the who/what/where/when/why and how of things creates a bulwark that is lasting, rather them hollow quips with no support to draw upon. I know, it was just a short vid and maybe his longer stuff is more comprehensive, just pointing that out.

It’s the saddest thing though when you consider there are 2,3, maybe 4 generations running around now that haven’t a clue about the world around them but this wondrous tool the inertoobz gives them the vehicle of voice to spread their ignorance knowledgeably and generations more too mentally unequipped to do anything but fall in line.

    Once more:
“The worst thing this rotten assed gov’t ever did was to hijack the public school system for that is at the base of all societal ills.”

This is another video where he really dissects post modernism. Longer, but worth listening to.

I’ve seen all his videos, and he is very deliberate about not communicating his religion. He will tell you only that he was one in his youth. It is hard not to conclude he shares the beliefs of Jung, the first among equals among Peterson’s great men. “Religion is a defense against the experience of God. I could not say that I believe. I know! I have had the experience of being gripped by something stronger than myself, something that people call God.”

  • james wilson October 19, 2017, 10:38 AM

    Was one (atheist)

  • AbigalAdams October 19, 2017, 11:52 AM

I’m just a simple country girl, and it seems to me everyone makes this (Peterson’s explications) more complex than it has to be. In the absence of a moral code created by God, humans have to come up with something to replace it. Has anything man made to replace God’s handiwork looked or worked better than the original? Never. A Marxist Utopia will never be an Utopia because it is the construction of Fallen Creatures. And all paths to that failed Utopia are and will be horribly, grotesquely, flawed.

  • Casey Klahn October 19, 2017, 11:54 AM

Mr. Frogdaddy: I apologize for the misspelling of your name, above. That was an error.
JimBob, I will listen to the whole thing. My first reaction is that he needs to name the politics separately from the Postmodernist label. It’s vague. Then again, I find the term “progressive” to be condescending and stupid. I liked Mark Levin’s description of Statism. Puts the Left in the same vein as historic tyrants, which is where they belong.
