Who Am I? by Carl Sandburg
My head knocks against the stars.
My feet are on the hilltops.
My finger-tips are in the valleys and shores of
universal life.
Down in the sounding foam of primal things I
reach my hands and play with pebbles of
destiny.
I have been to hell and back many times.
I know all about heaven, for I have talked with God.
I dabble in the blood and guts of the terrible.
I know the passionate seizure of beauty
And the marvelous rebellion of man at all signs
reading “Keep Off.”
My name is Truth and I am the most elusive captive
in the universe.

The Vault
Take It Where You Find It
Men saw the stars at the edge of the sea
They thought great thoughts about liberty
Poets wrote down words that did fit
Writers wrote books
Thinkers thought about it
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Many’s the road I have walked upon
Many’s the hour between dusk and dawn
Many’s the time
Many’s the mile
I see it all now
Through the eyes of a child
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
And close your eyes
Leave it all for a while
Leave the world
And your worries behind
You will build on whatever is real
And wake up each day
To a new waking dream
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Change, change come over
Change come over
Talkin’ about a change
Change, change
Change come over, now
Change, change, change come over
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light

oh dear
God Bless You, Trooper!
I looked it up and apparently the drunk driver survived and faces charges.
The officer did the equivalent of throwing yourself on a hand grenade. Pretty frightening stuff. Give her a medal, a promotion, and a desk. My hat’s off to her.
Right on Casey, her actions saved many Innocent lives.
It kind of irritates me that these special events can shut down highways. Bicycles, runners, parades, etc. Surely there are some non-highway venues where they can do their thing. But if they must use the highways why shouldn’t they pay the taxes. One day closing the bridge = $100,000. Seems fair.
Another example of why I proudly fly a Thin Blue Line American flag at my home and one at my business.
We need a lot more Police Officers like her.
“We need a lot more Police Officers like her.”
Yes indeed. Less or no pulling people over for seatbelt and other revenue collection.
Anonymous- so do you think that some folks should be exempt from the laws that everyone else should have to follow? Should fines (revenue) be eliminated and incarceration be used instead?
It does not take a genius mentality to figure out how to use a seatbelt.
That is a true Momma Bear…
We all complain that modern vehicles can’t be repaired without computers and special tools. All true. But the ability of modern–post 2000, maybe earlier–vehicles to keep occupants alive in what used to be deadly crashes is just awesome.
I covered many crashes as a reporter and as an EMT in the late 1970s through the early 1980s. As the driver in the heavier vehicle, the officer might have survived back then IF she was wearing her seatbelt. No way would the other driver live. And, back then, there would have been a lot of bent metal and perhaps a bumper on the ground. Nowadays there’s a big halo of broken parts expanding away from the impact. All of that soaked up some of the energy and kept it out of the passenger compartment.
Now a days it is $100k of spent stolen money just because.
Remember.
What if? makes the world go round, for the fraidy katz.
In a sane world that bitch would have had her fat skall crushed decades ago.
Today, soibois cuck for her.
This trooper put her life on the line, for the good of the people. She saved many many lives that day,, she did her job! That’s police” Medal of Honor” kinda courage.
