EXTRA! EXTRA! The News of the Day from the Surface of an Alien Planet 140 Million Miles from Earth

The greatest discovery is the fact that Mars has eerie background music!

I note the presence of the weasel word “Either ” in the text that accompanies the images. I remain stunned and amazed that we are now receiving daily photo updates of surface conditions on another planet.

    Genesis 1:6–8
Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.

I not the presence of the weasel word “Either.”

What do you suppose you mean by that?

So how do you prove that ain’t erf?

What on Earth has the Hebrew creation myth got to do with Mars exploration?

What on Earth has the Hebrew creation myth got to do with Mars exploration?

Well, Fletcher, though I am doubtful my reply to your interrogatory will be sufficient to answer your question, since the clearness of the Scripture quoted by Clayton seems to elude you, i.e. waters above and below the firmament, perhaps delving into St. Augustine’s writings in The Confessions of St. Augustine could further illuminate why Clayton chose to post those particular Scripture verses from Genesis. Specifically, see Books XII and XIII within. Perhaps, St. Augustine’s words will help you understand, but then again, perhaps not.

Hmm. Somehow I expected more than it’s basalt or igneous grains cemented by water. That’s two of the three types of rock right there in the whole universe, all they’re missing is sandstone. We spent great gobs of money and they tell us they found a rock.

It seems like the geologists have a death grip on Mars science. That’s all we ever hear from Mars: ooh, look at the interesting rocks we find. Have they found any place place in the tropics where water is close by and there are lots of minerals that can be used for raw materials? Have they found any life? I don’t think they want to look.

I’ve been closely examining the photos they are sending back. They’re in an ancient lakebed that’s been bone dry for 2 billion years, changing ever-so-slowly only by the soft susurration of aeolian winds drifting the sand and fines around. There look to be two types of rock together, both look to be igneous, and all covered by dark volcanic dust from Syrtis Major. In short, it looks boring. And their objective is to sniff and look at clays in the ancient river deltas. Unless they start finding tube worm burrows or the Martian-equivalent of Ediacaran fauna, it’s five more years of boring rocks. I looked hard, I saw three rocks that looked distinctly different from all the others, and they are driving away from them in a hurry.

It makes me sad. I think NASA and JPL have lost their way. They’ve been looking at rocks for twenty years. All they can say is Mars had lots of water once, it still has salty water underground. They’ve never tasted that water, they never tested it for life. I think Musk and SpaceX have it right: we’re going there to live, just try and stop us. Who cares about Martian life, it’s had 4 billion years to colonize the planet and it’s failed. It’s time for the inhabitants of Earth to try.

Oops, in my comment above I forget the limestones and dolomites, all the carbonate rocks created mostly by living creatures. Ok, so NASA has narrowed the rocks it has found to two of the four basic types. Yippee, a stunning result. (And I do not count metamorphic rocks, which are transformed from the other four types.) Somebody needs to tell the astro-geologists this much and no more, we’re done.

150+ million miles away and sharp as a mirror, yet clear photos of nessie, champ, bigfoot, UFO’s and barry’s college transcripts remain blurry, vague or impossible to find…strange dat!
