Daybook: December 10

From Commentor Jim O’Neil’s ipernity: Aurora – by Jim O’Neil

After NAS Pensacola shooting, Navy suspends flight training for nearly 300 Saudi students   The real shock here is that we actually have 300 (three hundred) Saudi Arabian pilots here in training at all. It doesn’t strike me as a plan for the Navy to be teaching the Saudis how to fly military jets around the eastern half of the United States air space.
“Firelight Flickering on the Ceiling of the World”: The Aurora Borealis in Art John Steinbeck, in Travels with Charley, expresses this nicely when, on his way to Maine in a camper van, he goes out into the night to get his dog some biscuits and happens to look up: the Aurora Borealis was out. I’ve seen it only a few times in my life. It hung and moved with majesty in folds like an infinite traveler upstage in an infinite theater. In colors of rose and lavender and purple it moved and pulsed against the night, and the frost-sharpened stars shone through it. What a thing to see at a time when I needed it so badly!

Today the White Man’s Burden has been inverted —it is not the West’s duty to colonise but to welcome any and all migrants beseeching the white man (and woman) to provide what their own rulers will not: sufficient food, adequate housing, jobs, education, healthcare, and so on—the foundations of a happy and prosperous life. Though they rarely show it, the leaders of these failing states—be they democratically elected or not—ought to be thoroughly ashamed of this.

Insufferables v. Deplorables Or let’s say we are Democrats, in caucus. The predator approaching is a Donald Trumptruck. We can see it coming a mile away; there is no subtlety at all in the creature. And yet we always get run over.

Raconteur Report: The Next New Normal   We have nothing to lose except 160M of those friends and neighbors who aren’t working for a living anyways, but still think they’re entitled to your cake. This won’t be Chicago Rules. It’s going to be Serengeti Rules. Meaning, just like with Randy Weaver their kids and family are on the menu as well. Turnabout is always fair play.

I’ve never seen a list that includes the superpower that Donald Trump seems to possess, which is the ability to drive your enemies crazy and make them do stupid things.

The C-word was invented for Pam Karlan Battle-ax, crone, fishwife, harpy, shrew, hag, scold – the beauty of the King’s English is its endless possibilities. Why put all your rhetorical eggs in the C-word basket? But every now and then a woman comes along that makes you say, “Now THAT hag is a see-you-en-tee!” And yesterday America was introduced to such a hag, Stanford professor Pam Karlan. The C-word was invented for just such a shrew. I don’t know why Jerry Nadler thought this bitter, angry fishwife would make a good impeachment “witness.” You’d have to live inside the DC bubble to think leaving your impeachment dreams in the hands of Trump-deranged Angry BroadTM was a good idea.

“Say, those screaming harpies who crashed the Kavanaugh hearings were so terrific, let’s get one of them to testify in our impeachment inquiry!

Along with a growing number of other white Americans, I find myself saying, œ”Wait a minute, whites built this country. We took a vast wilderness inhabited by a few million howling savages (who unlike their cousins in Mexico and Central America had built no civilizations) and turned it into what was, as recently as the 1950s, the best country on earth of all time.  The contribution of other races was mostly muscle, not brains. In that respect, they stand well back from the ox, mule, and horse. And now we are to stand mute as Democrats make us a despised minority in our own country? I don’t think so.”

The climate change debate is instructive. For years people have tried to model financial markets. There’s a built in incentive: incalculable wealth awaits anyone who gets it right even 60 percent of the time. Yet nobody has done so, because financial markets are extremely complex, are influenced by myriad variables, the relationship among variables and between the variables and the markets change, and we don’t know all the relevant variables. The same things can be said about climate modeling, except with more emphasis, because climate is more complex and has more potentially interacting variables—some of which we undoubtedly don’t know about—than financial markets.

You can’t prove your innocence or change their minds because actual facts are beside the point. The point is to generate a narrative that results in you being deprived of the moral capacity to assert your own rights and interests. You are disenfranchised, totally, by the moral failure that is your race or your sex or your religion or your sexual preference or whatever has been designated as bad this week. That is why we get evil concepts like “white privilege,” “mansplaining” and “heteronormativity” tossed around as if they are conceptual trump cards that instantly silence you merely by being asserted.

“We Are All George Zimmerman Now…” I am bringing this action not only to get justice for myself, but for all those Americans who are falsely accused of racial animus as well as those victimized by fake witnesses and unscrupulous prosecutors. This lawsuit is also for the Bell family, whose sons were falsely accused of involvement in a tragic gym accident that caused the death of Kendrick Johnson. This lawsuit is for Officer Darren Wilson of Ferguson, whom even Eric Holder had to admit was falsely accused of shooting a man who allegedly put his hands up. This lawsuit is for the police officers in Baltimore, both black and white, who were falsely accused of harming Freddy Gray in order to justify mob violence. This lawsuit is for Brett Kavanaugh and any future Supreme Court nominees falsely accused of crimes they did not commit to preventing their nominations.

Morally Bankrupt people are the first to cry “Morally Bankrupt.” And if Hitler came back, he would call his opponents Hitler.

Maverick Philosopher: Nancy Pelosi and the Divine Spark First, Nancy dear, do you think the pre-natal also have the divine spark? If not, why not? Isn’t that what your Catholic religion, bits of which you regularly inject into your speeches, teaches? And if the horrific rapes, murders, beheadings, etc. of the MS-13 do not cause them to forfeit the “divine spark,” then how is it that a human fetus’ lack of development prevents it from having said spark? Second, as a leftist committed to driving every vestige of religion, or rather Christianity, from the public square, can’t you see that it is inconsistent of you to use themes from your Catholic girlhood when it suits you and your obstructionist purposes? You come across as a silly goose of a dingbat. Or is that just an act to mask your mendacity and subversiveness and Alinskyite disregard of double standards?

When the propagandists opened their sites to comments, they assumed everyone agreed with them. Then they found out that the Dirt People thought they were foolish and dumb. The comments were closed. The same thing happens on social media. These hothouse flowers get crushed by dissenters, so they demand the sites be purged of dissenters. They are pulling the blinds down so they don’t have to look out at the peasants in the streets.

The Formation of the Global Electronic Brain | The reality is that the Internet of Things is itself the precursor to what has been called the “Internet of Thinking,” in which human beings will find themselves having to live in relationship to the vast global electronic intelligence.

It will be active everywhere in our environment and we shall be obliged to interact with it in order to accomplish the simplest of tasks.21 In the Internet of Thinking it is not hard to see the lineaments of an electronically supercharged totalitarian state, with unprecedented control over the minutiae of individuals’ lives.

The possibility of this happening will only be increased by the thousands of new mini phone masts and satellites irradiating every inch of the planet with millimeter waves.

The obvious scapegoat for government responsibility and public wrath is global warming. True to form, the New York Times, among others, treats the California nightmare as yet another example of the perils of climate change, without offering a shred of evidence to support that conclusion. In fact, mountains of evidence point in the opposite direction. To most people , surprise, global temperatures went down in 2017 and 2018. Whether or not part of a trend, the movement undercuts any claim about the short-term effect of global warming. In addition, there has been no substantial change in summertime temperatures in northern California, where the fires raged.

How do you invade and take over a powerful country? Not by direct military action, that would be suicide. By convincing one party that massive legal and illegal immigration could be used to vote them into power forever and then getting them to pass laws to make it happen. Follow that with a massive and continuing invasion of legal and illegal aliens until it becomes impossible for the citizens to elect leaders who would stop it or reverse it.

What are the risks? That the citizens would eventually figure out what you are doing and revolt. So you take their guns and militarize the police. But this is where the plan broke. Hillary should have been elected president with a Democrat congress who would have implemented strict gun control and confiscation. That didn’t happen and the slow awakening of the citizens to the massive and planned immigrant invasion is happening.

How do you counter this and delay the awakening? Call anyone who speaks up racists, deplorables and anti-immigrant and get the useful idiots to rise up against them and call them names. Wash, rinse, repeat until they sit down and shut up.

But Trump was the clinker in all of this, mostly by delaying gun control. The Democrats and foreign carpet baggers decided to try to accomplish gun control at the state level. But look at Virginia; the state that was going to (and probably still will) pass the most restrictive gun legislation in our history. But the awoken voters have risen up against it and in a great irony turned a left wing tactic against the left; they created 2nd amendment sanctuary counties to fight the gun grabbers and their foreign puppet masters.

Can the Democrats still win this? Bring in enough replacement voters and impose oppressive gun regulations? Yes they can if you just sit back and let them.

“Today the White Man’s Burden has been inverted”

So anyone promoting open borders is really a white supremacist and when Liz Warren announces that all illegals get health care free and food free and living quarters free – well, that’s white supremacy, too.

Or maybe in her case, Cherokee supremacy, I dunno.

Stealers will have to violate the law (trespass) in order to steal my stuff and they will be dispatched on sight. But they won’t get this far as there are several other up stream patriots to go through before they get here. Everybody is locked and loaded around these parts.

James, I lived in Kotzebue in 1990-1991 working at The Maniilaq Medical Center. I always felt so fortunate to have the opportunity to live in a place a lot of people never would get. I loved seeing the Aurora. It always reminded me of the scene in the movie ” The Ten Commandments” when blood is wiped over the doors of the first born and the undulating “mist” moves in. Haunting and beautiful at the same time.

    James O’Neil,

Nice aurora shots. I never had much luck, which I’m gonna blame on shooting from a bobbing platform.

As a dashing young Chief Mate I spent a summer assisting in oceanographic operations in Norwegian waters, from Tromso (cool Northern Lights Research Institute and Planetarium there) to Trondheim, with a month of so in the vicinity of the Moskenstraumen (ye olde legendary Maelstrom), so I had quite a few opportunities to see the show in all its spectacular glory.

Earlier I had worked a tug up the Inside Passage from Seattle all the way out to Cold Bay, and then in the Gulf of Alaska betwixt Icy Bay and Homer, but don’t think I saw the aurora for more than a few minutes, such was the miserableness of the weather. Years later, driving into VA from NC I did see ’em low on the northern horizon one cold, clear winter evening, a pretty rare thing in these parts.

You are afforded a rare privilege, indeed, being able to step out into the yard, gaze up, and catch the show. If it weren’t 70-ish here at nearly 5 PM today, I’d be tempted to be jealous.

  • James ONeil December 10, 2019, 3:00 PM

Glad you enjoyed them captflee. I’ve done quite a bit of playing around down in the Inside Passage and Prince William Sound over the years but I usually lucked out with the weather.

I just watched a video recorded by the family of the young Navy pilot-in-training who was shot by the Saudi terrorist. This young guy was wounded, but crawled down the hall to warn the incoming police what to expect. He died from his wounds.

The acting Navy secretary approved the award of gold pilot’s wings to the ones who died. Well done, Navy.

The video shows the family as they ride through Pensacola NAS behind the hearse. As they pass through the gate, you can see a few people on each side lined up at attention, saluting. Then they get about 200 yards in, and from then on there is a continuous line of sailors in dress blues, on both sides of the road, saluting. This goes on for what must be two miles, as it takes nearly ten minutes for the vehicle to traverse the route. No one was ordered to show up. The sailors just did. Thousands of them.

Upon further review, the Marines were there also.

Well done, Navy, says the former Air Force guy.

I read the book, “The Trayvon Martin Hoax”. Not the best written book in history, but the subject matter is amazing. Lawyer for the ‘bereaved family’ and the State Prosecutor connived to place a imposter on the witness stand in a murder trail. The family was motivated by 2 million dollars in insurance money, the Prosecutor by political advantage.

This country is broke. Donald Trump can’t fix it all, not all by himself. The greatest danger to this country isn’t ‘climate change’; it’s ‘The climate of corruption’.
