A few days ago I turned on the direct reply function to the commenting module here. Since then a couple of constant readers have emailed me to say that their comments have not shown up or been expunged.
I seldom, if ever, expunge comments here. I leave up comments that I find not exactly in alignment with my own views. I have, in the last year, expunged — maybe — 3 (three) comments. Because reasons.
Please let me know here or via email if you can’t see your comments. (At times some comments will be forced by the spam filter into Spam or Trash but I try and check those bins twice a day or more.)
The email:

Working for me.
So far so good.
Same here
Wherever I go, there I am.
Last week IIRC, I seem to remember that one or maybe two of my comments didn’t show. Can’t remember what my comment was or to which article…..it’s not like I lost sleep over it.
I figured it was something I did.
Testing 1 2 3 … is this thing on?
This space left intentionally blank.
Testing & testing spam filter; Gerard is a poopy butt turdy mouth.
No problem, went through fine. -grin-
I get a weekly newsletter from SGAmmo and below is part of the current one, regarding the sanctions against Russian ammo importation. Go look at the document in the embedded link. It reads like an article on cnn.com. Reportedly. Allegedly. It is believed. etc. I swear to christ this entire everything has turned into childville, USA from the top to the bottom. Practically everything you see from all the major sources is pure lies stacked on top of each other. It is way past time for this fucker to blow.
Thank you for subscribing to the SGAmmo.com newsletter. If you have trouble viewing this email you can see the newsletter at this link: Bulk Ammo In Stock With Free Shipping and My Russian Ammo Sanction Opinion
There has been a lot of people asking me about the sanctions on Russian ammo imports put in place by the US state department this past week and what it means for the future of ammunition supplies. There will be more clarity in several weeks when we can see the publication of a Federal Register notice expected on September 7, 2021. The state department announcement can be seen at this page – https://www.state.gov/fact-sheet-united-states-imposes-additional-costs-on-russia-for-the-poisoning-of-aleksey-navalny/
My Russian Ammo Sanction Opinion – First, I hope you don’t ‘shoot the messenger’ and I’d like to pat everyone on the back and tell them things are going to be okay but that wouldn’t be truthful. In my opinion the sanctions are a major game-changer in the ammunition supply chain that is already strained. For the time being and based on what we can see so far, we believe that this will be the effective end of Russian made ammo in the USA as it plays out over the next year or so as import permits expire or are filled to the quantity limits, and in doing so eliminate supply of a huge portion of the ammo in the US commercial market. From what I understand, the USA commercial market consumes around 800,000,000 rounds of ammunition from Russia every year, roughly 800 semi truck trailers worth in a mix of the most popular calibers. For the immediate short term we expect ammo to keep coming in from Russia but I expect the importers to raise prices substantially which is understandable to me given its the end of the lifespan for their business model. The calibers we believe will be most effected are soviet metric calibers like 7.62×39, 5.45×39, and 7.62x54R because there is almost zero available manufacturing capacity for these calibers outside of Russia and what little exists will not make a significant impact in filling the needs of the USA commercial market without Russian ammo absorbing the lion’s share. In addition to these calibers, I estimate that the Russians supplied 30% to 40% of the 223 Rem / 5.56 and 9mm Luger consumed at the shooting ranges across this country, and large portions of the 45 auto, 9×18 Makarov, 30 carbine, 308 Winchester / 762×51, 380 Auto, 300 Blackout and 6.5 Grendel. I see this as a potentially devastating blow to the supply for of 223 Rem / 5.56 and 9mm Luger, where the reduction in supply from Russia will be difficult to make up in the short term for other manufacturers who have already been unable to keep up with demand this past year. Consumers who have used Russian ammo regularly will have to move on from Russian made ammo to those other products made elsewhere and in doing so absorb the supply and prolong recent shortages. Again this is my opinion, based on my knowledge of the industry after 20+ years experience, and how things play out over time could be different. For me, selling Russian made ammo is about 40% of my business, and while we plan to source as much supply as we can from other sources, we do expect this to have a major negative impact on supply for 7.62×39, 7.62x54R, 5.45×39, 9mm Makarov, 9mm Luger, 223 Rem / 5.56 NATO, as well as the other mentioned calibers.
I posted 2 comments on the Gimme Shelter article, neither showed up. No big loss.
I’m sure it was a glitch and not any type of censorship.
Ghost- thanks for the heads up from SGA, but I think they went a bit far when saying “The calibers we believe will be most effected are soviet metric calibers like 7.62×39, 5.45×39, and 7.62x54R because there is almost zero available manufacturing capacity for these calibers outside of Russia”…
There are other countries who make those calibers, like Yugoslavia, etc.
And as for them saying they “do expect this to have a major negative impact on 9mm Luger, 223 Rem / 5.56 NATO,” I call BULLSH*T- the two most manufactured & popular calibers in the USA? Yeah, right. Sounds like they want to induce more “panic buying” for their own profit.
Might be worth perusing this list of manufacturers for any of those particular “Russki” calibers-

Rather than pat myself and other reloaders on our collective backs, I’ll just relate that no matter how anti-gun-anti-ammo the Libtards are getting, they (for reasons unknown) never seem to go after reloading components and equipment when they ban “gun stuff.”
Yes, some components are scarce, some are being scalped, and a LOT are being hoarded. Some can’t/won’t be shipped to Commiefornia and other ‘blue’ states.
Common sense dictates that whenever a Democrat/Socialist is in office, you better start hoarding, reloading, or both.
I have a dozen or so sources for ammo I keep tabs on. Hav’t bought much in the past year though I will if the price drops drastically. 40 cents a round? No way.
Checking the Commenting Function at AD
Testing & a short comment.
The criminals in charge of the dot gov are planning to do some serious damage to our Second Amendment.
Right now these same creeps are supplying approximately $100 billion (stolen from American tax payers) worth of guns, ammo, deadly as hell aircraft, bombs and who knows what else to a prehistoric looking group of sub-humans who are planning to kill us. And the dot gov is bringing these creeps here in giant USAF aircraft at approximately 700 killers per plane load.
The plan by the gov ??: Disarm all the Patriots and arm all the subhuman killers, rapists, sub-humans.
The in-house commies are running scared seems to me. What a cluster fu*k is forming and quite fast.
Sucks to not have 15 k 7.62x 39 on the shelf. Who didn’t see this coming? Asking for a friend.
Have many many cases on shelves, I paid 100.00 for twenty five years ago.

Terry raises a hot topic.
The Aussies surrendered theirs more than 2 decades ago. Kiwis as well, Cannucks too….and well, the nut-less Brits long before that.
There is a lesson this.
NEVER EVER GIVE UP YOUR GUNS!
From one of America’s well known commie sympathizers;
The Ranger’s Command
Words and Music by Woody Guthrie
Come all of you cowboys all over this land,
I’ll teach you the law of the Ranger’s Command:
To hold a six shooter, and never to run
As long as there’s bullets in both of your guns.
I met a fair maiden whose name I don’t know;
I asked her to the roundup with me would she go;
She said she’d go with me to the cold roundup,
And drink that hard liquor from the cold, bitter cup.
We started for the canyon in the fall of the year
Expecting to get there with a herd of fat steer;
And the rustlers broke on us in the dead hours of night;
She ‘rose from her warm bed, a battle to fight.
She ‘rose from her warm bed with a gun in each hand,
Said: Come all of you cowboys and fight for your land,
Come all of you cowboys and don’t ever run
As long as there’s bullets in both of your guns.

Let’s see if the spam filter catches this cut and paste. I posted this at Fran Porretto’s site this morning, but it’s too good not to share here too.
Yesterday afternoon:
I’m out back, head to toe all over dust and dirt, and getting ready to put up for the day. Mary appears at the back door.
Wife: Are you going to take a shower?
Me: Not just yet.
Wife: I’m just finishing up in the kitchen. Now I’m all greasy, and I need to clean up. I had a lot of little bits of this, and that, and I mixed it all in this batch. It came out greasier than usual. I’m not sure how good it will be.
Me: You always say that, but your cooking is world famous. Your burritos are always a work of art. Who cares about a little extra grease? Besides, I’m skinny, and I can use the calories.
Wife: I was talking about making my hand lotion.

That is odd, Pete. I looked at your comment record and y ou’ve got over 400 in this version of American Digest but there’s no hint of you in the Gimmer Shelter thread. It’s sort of a gap since you are pretty regular if something engages your attention.
I have no idea what glitch it could have been. I see the spam bin and the trash bin (Trash bin means the filter isn’t quite certain it is spam and sends you a moderation flag.). I look at or at least (in spam) scan the userids and always check the Trash since a lot of valid comments land there. But I’ve kept the Spam in Trash without emptying for the lsa two weeks and there’s nothing in there by you still lingering. Maybe the vast data whales of the deeper net slurp out some of thy words in their cyber-balleen.
rarely, one gets eaten but have been retrieved on occasion.
not lately.
and I now reckon if I lose one what’s the loss…
I appreciate the reply function, I don’t find a need for “likes”.
Weird…
I see my above post twice- as both a normal post and also as a reply to Ghost.
I did get a “Your post is awaiting moderation” notice, as I have before a few times.
Vanderleun- you called me “pretty regular?” Geesh- I may be “regular,” but I sure as hell ain’t “pretty!” (heh heh)
Since you asked, Gerard: A new problem for me is that the site loads either very slowly (i.e., at the rate of Biden’s brain cells) or I get a prompt saying that the connection has timed out.
On loading times: I can see why loading can get very slow and time out on some connections. I think (think) it may be due to items on the page — such as gifs, tweets, videos, etc — items that have to be loaded from other sites…. can clog or slow down a page.
I’ve just gone through the top visible posts and placed a lot of tweets and videos after the jump. This should result in a noticible improvement. IF
IF you reload this page after loading it once to clear the cache on your end. Should be better. Let me know.
I’m still getting timeout messages.
