Now the sun’s gone to hell
And the moon’s riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it’s written in the starlight
And every line in your palm
We are fools to make war
On our brothers in arms…

This always finds it’s way to today..
I never carried a rifle, though I did strap on a S&W.38 from time to time, and had access to the keys to launch nuclear missiles. Never used them, though.
Took my boy LN to Top Gun (2). Packed house at 8 pm in the Spokane IMAX. His grandfather (World War II combat vet) passed away, in the 1990s, in May. Even the Top Gun movie couldn’t help tipping a hat to the Greatest generation. Which: always tugs at my heart.
May God bless you all on this fine day. May god smile on our vets today. Sincerely to you Vets, thank you for your service.
TopGun “ Maverick” saw it Sat at 11:30am, fantastic movie. Found myself “ flaring” my legs out into the shitty movie house seats on the G pulls!
The SU57 Gen 5 Russian Jets are the real deal, not our aircraft worked over to look alike the flying the “ 57s” is real, the tumbles the falls, are true aircraft factual pics!, likely Paris air show or similar.
I saw many old friends at the show. Marines, Air Force and Army. yelled down to them, in our now routine inner service rivalry GO NAVY!
To my surprise a “gallery clap “was heard throughout the movie house.
My friends quickly found their seats. I then asked if “ you butter cups” are going to require barf bags. This is Navy flying, I got another gallery clap!
End of the movie EVERYBODY stood and clapped! Won’t lie I had tears in my eyes. God I love these United States!
This day is not for veterans, it’s for the People who never got to be “veterans”; those of us who got to be veterans have our own day in November.
I love the idea of the United States. I love the brilliance of our Founders design. I love the greatness of production, innovation and industry achieved in this country. I mourn the degradation and destruction of what this country has been. I intend that we will yet recover the liberties surrendered to those who intend to rule over us and I promise a reckoning with those vermin.
