Who Am I? by Carl Sandburg
My head knocks against the stars.
My feet are on the hilltops.
My finger-tips are in the valleys and shores of
universal life.
Down in the sounding foam of primal things I
reach my hands and play with pebbles of
destiny.
I have been to hell and back many times.
I know all about heaven, for I have talked with God.
I dabble in the blood and guts of the terrible.
I know the passionate seizure of beauty
And the marvelous rebellion of man at all signs
reading “Keep Off.”
My name is Truth and I am the most elusive captive
in the universe.

Take It Where You Find It
Men saw the stars at the edge of the sea
They thought great thoughts about liberty
Poets wrote down words that did fit
Writers wrote books
Thinkers thought about it
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Many’s the road I have walked upon
Many’s the hour between dusk and dawn
Many’s the time
Many’s the mile
I see it all now
Through the eyes of a child
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
And close your eyes
Leave it all for a while
Leave the world
And your worries behind
You will build on whatever is real
And wake up each day
To a new waking dream
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Change, change come over
Change come over
Talkin’ about a change
Change, change
Change come over, now
Change, change, change come over
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light

OK, no guffaw but it got a satisfying chuckle out of me.
I just posted my art on Twitter.
I think the world could possibly be better served by a Francisco d’Anconia.
Leave out that 97 page rant, and I’m all in.
Who is John Galt, you ask?
Why, the answer is in the question.
And, if you have to ask, you’ll not understand the answer.
Slog through that 1034 page tomb for a clue.
Many have said they have, but under scrutiny, most can be convicted of not.
Ayn Rand was the Queen of Rant: page after page of Objectivist screeching and howling. She was also a hater of Christianity. Her book “Anthem” was readable—and mercifully short. Rand kept on screeching and howling until her end—which was tawdry and sordid, rather like Tolstoy’s.
Sometimes there’s no measured substitute for a good rant. We find them therapeutic at my house, but we do impose a 3-per-day limit. Because of its persistence, this precludes ranting on Twitter.
Certainly a good rant can be good for the soul, but only if it is my rant and my soul. Thousands of my ex-students can attest to the truth of this.
So much of Twitter is simply adolescent yelping and moon-howling about some damn thing or another.
If I want some woman ranting and screeching and howling at me I’ll get married again.
I don’t, and I still won’t, tweet. I tend to cuss too much.
Cussing is currently required on Twitter. You could be Ruler of a Realm of Shadows.
Note this video, in which an MSNBC “expert” is afraid that anyone not liberal enough running Twitter could spike a candidate in an election. I. shit. you. not.
If you said that from the Right, you’d be reviled for being a conspiracy nut. But, this guy says it from the Left as if…well, you gotta see him bichin:

This week just keeps getting better and better:
• Netflix shares crashing
• CNN+ shutting down after 1 month
• Spotify not renewing Obama podcast
• Disney stripped of special governing powers
• Mask mandates ruled unlawful on public transportation
• Elon Musk secures funding for Twitter takeover
Not to mention Libs of TikTok heading to the top of the charts with a bullet, just shy of 1 million subscribers.
Ghost and Mike: information warfare.
