Where the Sidewalk Ends
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we’ll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we’ll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

The People Yes
The steel mill sky is alive.
The fire breaks white and zigzag
shot on a gun-metal gloaming.
Man is a long time coming.
Man will yet win.
Brother may yet line up with brother:
This old anvil laughs at many broken hammers.
There are men who can’t be bought.
The fireborn are at home in fire.
The stars make no noise,
You can’t hinder the wind from blowing.
Time is a great teacher.
Who can live without hope?
In the darkness with a great bundle of grief
the people march.
In the night, and overhead a shovel of stars for keeps, the people
march:
“Where to? what next?”

Our family will be keeping your family in our prayers and thoughts.
What John said– I hope that whatever has happened will have the best possible outcome. God be with you.
I pray all is well.
I pray all is well and is there is another crisis, I pray it goes away quickly. I will keep you in my prayers and you and Paradise lost have been added to a prayer chain I am part of. God blessings for you sir.
Prayers for you and your family. Thinking of your mom especially.
Prayers also.
Praying without ceasing for you and yours.
Do what needs be done. I can wait, and I expect all your other readers can, too.
We look at you as part of our family because we read you daily. Our offer still stands. If you need ANYTHING we are there!! You are in our thoughts and especially in our prayers.
Thank you all and bless you all for your prayers. Mom has had a fall but is not in any critical danger. She bumped her head and is being held for observation with a very positive prognosis. All other systems are fine. More than that we do not know at this time.
Prayers needed still. I’ll update here when we know more.
Oh no, that’s trouble not wanted.
Hope that observation and tests go well for your Mother.
Is that a photo of your Mother at the top?
There’s a certain point at which humans should be able to put on bumper pads or a bumper
suit not unlike the pillsbury dough boy. We need them. Our wavering balance systems require them. Yet where are they? Too many folks to busy inventing and marketing $1,000 phones and other gadgets that distract us.
I am sending out a woo woo ish protective bubble to all things Mom and Gerard. Remember to breathe. Deeply. All will be well.
Prayers for you and Mama…and may HE give you peace and healing.
…and from here as well.
God Bless.
