Lots of moonbattery and bullshit flying around in the political froth of twitter, no doubt. But there are a vast number of twitter accounts that offer real value for time spent. Indeed, there are close to 350,000,000 users now so that is a vast, vast site of humans doing nothing but throwing characters and pixels around.
