Year 1 In Review: All Your Base Are Belong to Us So Forget Your Troubles C’mon Get Happy

IF:

THEN:

Trump is supposed to be an evil reincarnated Hitler, or something like that. And yet his daughter and grandchildren are Jewish. And, furthermore, he has done something no President has dared to do: called for the move of the American embassy to Jerusalem. Trump was widely hailed as the harbinger of economic apocalypse. Trickle down won’t work, they said. As a businessman he his a bankrupted failure, they claimed. And yet the economic growth of the last year hasn’t been seen since, perhaps, the Reagan administration. They said he wouldn’t last a year before impeachment or resignation, and yet here we are. Trump isn’t Hitler? Don’t let the facts fool you! If NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, McClatchey, the BBC, the Harvard Review, WSJ, et al., say he’s Hitler, I don’t know what your facts are going to do to sway minds.
BTW, *Fascism* is the contemporary boogeyman that the Spetsznaz uses when they open up an insurgency in their target country. Oh shit! Another fact!

I spoke too soon. That video had me busting a gut. There is hope for America. FYF!

Rightists would do well – which they won’t – to understand that all this talk about a completely miraculous ‘economy’ is BS. That certainly doesn’t mean DJT isn’t doing a lot right, but let’s try and remember that stock market is not the economy; the stock market these days is stock by-backs and printing press money by the crony capitalist state that’d hijacked the country.

    What, you thought it evaporated?

Unemployment also isn’t magically lower and trade imbalances don’t correct in a year any more than US manufacturing returns from abroad. Fiat currencies still peg (which is what really dictates trade and economies), the debt still soars, tax breaks still enrich Big Corporatism and not you, unemployment is still grossly under-reported, consumer debt has just spiked, and exponential markets always correct.

    Exponential markets ALWAYS correct.

Lastly, remember all the times everybody shrieked that Obama wasn’t emperor, at least not when there was a congress and economic inertia and a global scale to things? Or that inflation and employment were bogus figures? Or that Wall Street was part of the problem?

I remember. So what changed in a year? The answer is not nearly enough to stave off rightists eating their words when this market too corrects and/or inflation tears a hole in the world that the previous 8 years avoided only because it had so effectively – and willfully – economically hog-tied a nation.

This isn’t a miracle economy and it’s not a boom. Trump isn’t an emperor either and things will correct. At that point the right will, true to form, kiss first its electoral chances and then it’s own rear because it will have no answer for the obvious, inevitable phenomenon that it apparently doesn’t even know exists right now. And always has.

Wise up rightists. This is the very faintest of reprieves. Your greatest weakness is not just your amazing ignorance of the mechanics of money, but your enabling the problem of it outright. You’re full-on statists. Odds are overwhelming that soon enough you’ll regret what you’re only assuming today, fact-free.

shwew, glad I’m not a rightist, at least not in the political sense, after that ass kickin’.
I agree, and so would anyone that has been reading Dakin for any length of time, and paying attention to the long view.

Never forget, it is impossible for this rotten assed gov’t to do any good before it first does overwhelming bad, and with that in mind I see no benefit at all to it’s existence.

I am quite happy. The panicky Percy’s were wrong, we have not yet been betrayed, we have much winning, and more winning is under way as we sit here.

Bully, President Trump! Bully, I say! Bully!
