I wonder if he and his extended family are on gov’t handouts and constantly whining for more?

Kinda looks like he’s not focusing much on the obstacles but rather on the goals of assimilating into the community, advancing toward his personal and professional goals, trying to be 100% responsible for himself and those that are dependent upon him, and not being a drain on the society.

What a difference 75 years makes.

Assimilating. My grandfather, who came from Germany @ 1900, homesteaded a wilderness plot, and turned around and sent every one of his boys to fight in WW II (one in Korea). All of them with sized 10 balls. All who wore American flags in their lapel.

Damn every lib who thinks we don’t know the difference between immigration, and illegal criminal migration.

I’m truly amazed at that statement, “By 1917, Greeks in Chicago owned some … 4000 restaurants”
Four thousand Greek-owned restaurants? In Chicago? In 1917 ???

In one of his short pieces, Hemingway wrote about an interview with the King of Greece. He ended it with “Like all Greeks he wanted to go to America and open a restaurant.” Hemingway knew Chicago well since he grew up in Oak Park and he returned there for a time after WWI.
