Wretchard of the Belmont Club on “Bad guys and the male of the species”

A video from the distinguished essayist Richard Fernandez of The Belmont Club. I’ve met him a couple of times in New York City. Never seen him on video before. It’s a first. I think that’s Sydney and the Sydney Harbor Bridge in the background which adds to the authenticity.

Big fan of Fernandez from when he was Wretchard…
Always elegaic in thought and word.
Seeing his face and presentation only confirms how interesting, brilliant, thoughtful.
    Thanks for the catch.

“It’s absolutely necessary to recognize innocence, otherwise there’s no point in fighting evil, for if you cannot be innocent by choosing something else, then not only are you not free, but you are doomed. And no one is doomed.”

Wretchard’s one of those profoundly decent men, like Kavanaugh, who are aghast at the swirling filth of these past days.

A treasure, just as is Gerard. I have learned much from both.

Wish I could buy you both a drink! You have both been so influential in my life. So interesting to hear the voice not just read it

“Women have been treated badly throughout history”. As men have also treated each other. Women have also been treated especially well. Richard is not painting on his own canvas here. Lefties cannot be placated, and normies don’t need to be.

Been reading Fernandez for years. He’s great. May be Sydney in the background – I thought he lives in Manila?
