The Wrath of the Awakened American

You want “woke?” You’ll get “woke.”

[Apologies to Rudyard Kipling]

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the American began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy — willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the American began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the American began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the American began to hate.

It was not suddently bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the American began to hate.

The Beginnings is contained within “Mary Postgate” in *A Diversity of Creatures*, written by my father in 1917 two years after my fall at the Battle of Loos.

To Mark, you should differentiate between Tribe and (((The Tribe))). Tribe is what we of Western lineage are eventually going to have to recognize as salvation. The various and very violent 3rd World tribes that surround us are being used as a proxy army to attack Western Civilization by (((The Tribe))).

My favorite is this from John Dryden: “Beware the wrath of a patient man.”
