SOTU: Notes

It is certainly amusing in the extreme to watch Trump announce the “lowest levels of black unemployment in history” AND see the Congressional Black Caucus   sit on its collective lazy, fat asses and refuse to applaud while Nancy Pelosi seems to be either struggling with Bell’s Palsy or exercising a large chaw of prime chewing tobacco.  It will probably be even more amusing to watch that most commodious lazy fat ass of Maxine Waters slobber out her “commentary” after the speech…………

And that was as far as I got before the double whammy of the California Cold/Flu bug of 2018 combined with a town-wide internet outage took me out.

Both the internet of Paradise and this body are currently in recovery, but still sketchy.

More later as the Continues….

If, on the other hand, you wish to read some insightful commentary on the SOTU I recommend  neo-neocon’s  The jiu jitsu SOTU speech

    “…collective lazy fat asses…”
    ===================

    Well that’s it right there.
Regardless of skin color, if you don’t try to better yourself you won’t be better.
It doesn’t happen by itself, you have to make it happen, and you don’t have to try very hard, but you do have to try.
Not all negro’s are lazy asses but it seems most are.
The negro’s that shake it, make it. The rest whine and become bitter because the free hand out is never enough.
How do you know if someone is a lazy ass?
Watch how long they stay on welfare.
    Longer than a year? Lazyass.
The only way you can go a year without working in this country is if you are a lazyass AND someone else is paying for your maintenance.
Eliminate the free maintenance and in no time at all people lose the lazyass attitude.
Reward poor behavior and you’ll get more of it.
Penalize poor behavior and get less of it.

People who have jobs and pay taxes are a lot less likely to vote Democrat.

The problem with being a politician whose resume is only skin deep is that if civil war comes your skin is your uniform.

    Get well, GvD.

I also noted that the dems shot out of the room the second POTUS stopped talking. They went like their pants were on fire. I understand protocol, and politeness, require that you stay until the president and his train are out of the chambers.

They were miffed that he hadn’t proposed solving “Global Warming.” Instead of hearing “I” and “me” from Obama, a hundred times, we heard “we” from Trump. Several dozen times, I think it was. That’s class, and it stands in stark contrast to the other side’s demeanor.

Kennedy! ChapStick-Quiddick. He cannot have fallen from the same tree as JFK. No effin way.

The stark contrast between politics of opportunity and the politics of envy.

Hopes for a fast recovery, sir. Hot spiced cider and rum. Or brandy. Throwing that out there.

    Gerard,
Bourbon kills germs on contact. Get to feeling better. Our crew all got flu shots last Sunday after church.

Thanks for pointing out all the people of Congress that could not even applaud the benefits of an improving economy. Of course people who are doing well for themselves do not need an ongoing level of Gubmint support.

    Kasey,
Very nice observation on the “we” versus “I” during this most recent speech.

Take your time, GvD I had the bug in mid-December and was on the mend in three days but not back to full strength for a month. Frustrating, but that’s the way it is for us old guys. Best wishes.

Black unemployment is down in proportion to black unemployables being ever up. If you can’t be employed you are not unemployed.
I haven’t watched a SOTU in thirty years. Now would be a good time to end this miserable practice, since we are holding the ball. Anyone who disagrees should have their eyes taped open and watch Hillary speak until he begs for mercy.
