The article itself posits that “…members of the most privileged minority race in America sit atop the heights of achievement wealth and influence in astronomically and suspiciously disproportionate number and use their power to undermine those beneath them while demanding encomiums to their victimhood…..”.
This is thinly disguised code for “Jews are ruining the world”.
In case there is any remaining doubt, the knuckle dragging commenters are quick to pile on with far less nuanced condemnation of the Jewish race.
I know these views do not reflect Gerard’s state of mind, but no useful purpose is served to link to sites which unapologetically parrot these hoary anti-Semitic tropes.
In regards to Chateau Heartiste/ Ingrates. I thought it odd that Gerald would link to an obvious anti-Semitic site, so I followed the link and read the story and poked around the other offerings.
I don’t think so.
I took “most privileged minority race” to mean urban black. Not Jew.
Let me be clear. I don’t link to sites. I link to articles. If you want things to be clearer I refer you to my first wife, my daughter, and their 120+ Jewish relatives.

Had a black reader misunderstood the phrase under discussion to be about blacks and taken umbrage, would our host have then clarified his editorial decision and published a stern lesson on the evils of racism? Or had a female reader objected to the representation of women as destroyers of civilization, would we be treated to a lecture on misogyny? If not, why not?

Second, you claim to draw inspiration from observations based on that imagination.

Your hypothetical offended black reader would not have misunderstood. He would simply have been offended by a statement which could arguably be defended. The hypothetical offended female reader is a distraction. I find that topic boring.
Any bigotry can arguably be defended, Ed, but only some types of bigotry are considered beyond the pale in certain forums. Haters gonna hate.
“Haters gonna hate.” Quite likely. I try to ignore them. I don’t go where they hang out. “The best way to get the last word in is often over your shoulder.” When this rarely doesn’t work, turn about, pick the biggest one, give him a quick jab to the gut followed by an upper cut that begins down around your knees. That has worked for me. I learned it from a self defense poster I bought from the back of a comic book back when I was about 11 y.o. Maybe Joe Lewis’ wrote the poster. Somebody like him.
