Were I Jones, I’d file an antitrust suit. This is more than arguably conspiracy in restraint of trade (and possibly a conspiracy to deprive him of civil rights). (3) This is proof that we need to break up these big tech companies, which exercise way too much power via their near-monopolies. That they coordinate in the abuse of those monopolies only makes it clearer.
Nevertheless, the group censorship of Mr. Jones, led by our friends in Cupertino, the makers of the ubiquitous iPhone — I’ve had a half-dozen myself and am typing this on a MacBook — is one of the scarier developments of our time, if not potentially the scariest. Apple is one hypocritical organization banning the puny Jones. They — the first trillion-dollar company — are the people who are genuflecting to the Chinese, kowtowing (that is definitely the proper word) to Xi Jinping and Co., and making all kinds of accommodations to that totalitarian regime for access to their giant market.
What little I know about Alex Jones is that he is a phony and makes cheap tabloids look good. I have heard him a little and read things he said/wrote a little but I don’t know much about him. But to say he is a “conservative” seems odd. He may from time to time agree with good solid conservative principles but I’m just not sure he is what most would call “conservative”. Perhaps he is more “independent” or somewhat anti-liberal and that is where the confusion comes in.
I use apple products, facebuhk, Goo Gull, and YoobTube for business, and am searching for ways to counter them. It’s not the same as boycotting StarBux.

We need a new Law. I’m not pithy. But I see the outline. It’s based on the well-known network effect, that the value of the network and its ability to attract new users scales at some power law.

ghostsniper, Yes! The Internet was way better. It used to run on DNS before goolag took over search. Everything got commercialized and then people bought their way to the top of the results lists. I much preferred simply searching what was out there. One could actually and truly educate themselves on any topic for free because massive volumes of science, history, technical studies and the like would come up in key word searches. Now all we get somebody hocking something on amazon about the topic. For a while you could use Yahoo search to specify domains and eliminate .com there was much value in the .edu .mil .gov and .org searches with DNS back in the late 1990’s and early oughts.
I’d like to offer a recommendation. Think about what you routinely use the internet for. Apple pie recipe? Buy a cookbook. How to snake a toilet? Buy a handyman DIY book. Why do the Romanians hate Ceausescu? Buy a set of encyclopedias. (Actually, I’d recommend three sets: one from earlyish 20th century, another from the early ’60s, and a third from the aughts– but that’s just me.) Keeping up with family & friends? Get their freaking phone numbers and give them a call.
What worries me is the utter dependance we all have on the stupid internet. Counter it as best you can. (My personal project is “preserving Western Civilization one book at a time!”)

Yes, I still have a landline. Though retired if called on by a friend to work on one of the remaining legacy phone systems; they have control ports on analog lines and dialup modem (most are 2400 baud).
Secondly, I use it to call out when the number is an 800 or toll free number. When calling a toll-free number, they can harvest your calling phone number even if you have your number blocked. On a toll-free call since they pay the cost the true billing number will always be sent.
Third, there is no ringer. Only an answering machine. Since I only give out my land line number it serves as a ‘honey trap’ for all those “Congratulations! ” BS calls. I never give out my cell and I don’t answer unknown numbers on it. Waiting for a vendor to offer cell phone service with ‘Whitelisting’ and that will be perfect.

Buying online and all this kind of connection might be the domain of the old and infirm. I know without it I would be up a crick, as they say.

Yes, I still have a landline. Though retired if called on by a friend to work on one of the remaining legacy phone systems; they have control ports on analog lines and dialup modem (most are 2400 baud).
Secondly, I use it to call out when the number is an 800 or toll free number. When calling a toll-free number, they can harvest your calling phone number even if you have your number blocked. On a toll-free call since they pay the cost the true billing number will always be sent.
Third, there is no ringer. Only an answering machine. Since I only give out my land line number it serves as a ‘honey trap’ for all those “Congratulations! ” BS calls. I never give out my cell and I don’t answer unknown numbers on it. Waiting for a vendor to offer cell phone service with ‘Whitelisting’ and that will be perfect.
