[Bumped] "They send one of ours to the hospital, we send two of theirs to the morgue."

Baseball Shooter a Big Wake-Up Call for the Left | Roger L. SimonRobespierre is alive and well in 2017 USA.

This pathetic character in Alexandria is, now was, the left's ungoverned id. By any means necessary -- that's for sure. They will undoubtedly try to shove him under the rug as quickly as possible, just one more aberrant individual to be forgotten, just one obscure Bernie volunteer gone bad. Sanders did his best to separate himself within minutes of the revelation. Yes, it's undoubtedly true that this was just one rotten apple, but it's also true that only five years ago Bernie was recommending Venezuela -- now ground zero for starvation, kidnapping and murder -- as a path for us to emulate.

Your Say

The usual suspects are already making this a "gun control" issue.

Dear God. There will be a terrible day of reckoning in our future.

With any luck, the enormity of this act may throw some cold water on dissatisfied Democrat voters and the liberal media going forward.

If it fails to do so, we must be prepared to call them to account for every single transgression against civilized behavior they dare. Events have reached this dangerous pass because most of us have taken our precious republic for granted. We can no longer afford to let events pass without comment and must work to preserve our society.

@ahem, please, you know better than that.

Has a screaming toddler ever been calmed by passive coddling?

Anyone will realize reality instantly when they observe that the penalty for any given behavior is far greater than any potential profit.

The american communists are an especially stupid genre so it will require a lot of examples of bold reality right in their faces before they start to get the message.

For proof look up moldylocks.gif and see how she has disappeared from the lexicon because she now sports a goose egg the size of antarctica on her forehead and her pornpix webcam income has taken a skydive right into the shitter.

Is there a pile of teddy bears and flowers for Hodgkinson at the baseball field yet?

Posted by: Dr. Jay at June 15, 2017 6:14 AM

"Robespierre is alive and well in 2017 USA." Yes, and most Americans are ignorant of what that means. I am sure there are thousands of little, nasty, ugly leftists who want to become famous as revolutionaries.

Posted by: Terry at June 15, 2017 8:34 AM

Yes, I do know better. All Democrat voters are not professional radicals or weak-minded nut cases like Hodgkinson; there's still time to appeal to their better natures and whatever values we share---there has to be, or we are lost. If blow comes to blow, we will no longer be able to recognize ourselves; our civilization will be gone. Things may be bad now, but they always get much worse.

By the way, how do you quiet a screaming infant? Does a body slam suffice, or do you have to knock them out with a baseball bat?

Posted by: ahem at June 15, 2017 8:55 AM

Well, the tyrants can do as they please and reap their just rewards but they will effect no change in how I see the world or interact with others.

True, blowing their heads at 300 yds may have some psychological effects on me but that's a cheap price to keep them off my door step where I will have to use bayonets.

My reference to the screaming brats pertained to the spoiled assholes that propagate the news and the campuses these days.

They weren't raised properly.

Were mostly ignored by their parent(s) and when necessary were given things to keep them occupied.

Piss poor planning and execution of their child rearing responsibilities is the results you now see. If the child rearing is done properly seldom will the child scream uncontrollably. Perhaps our own child was the exception as his crying was very rare.

Here's an analogy:
Couple weeks ago Steph called and asked me if I could come turn her truck and trailer around as she had gotten it into a tight spot. There was a steep cliff on one side and a steep hill on the other. Oh dear. With considerable backing up, turning, pulling forward, etc., I enacted about a 40 point turn and got the whole rig turned around 180 degrees facing the opposite direction like she wanted. shwew

Then I told her that the first thing to consider when pulling a trailer is to think about your approach and how you are going to get back out, then commandeer the vehicle accordingly. In other words, think ahead.

If you ignore or neglect a young child it will use the only tool in it's arsenal, it's little lungs, to get you back on track, and you will need to employ various things at your disposal to bring order to the mess.

If you think ahead and always keep that constantly expanding biological experiment at the fore front of your brain seldom will you need to play "catch up" and 20 years later you will reap the reward of your attentiveness, care, and responsibility to that which you have borne.

Just finishing Diana West's magnum opus "American Betrayal, The Secret Assault on Our Nation's Character"; and have been continuously gob-smacked by how much of what we're currently experiencing, is due to the communist infestation of Franklin Roosevelt's cabinet and myriad agencies during his tenure in office. This was bad enough-and may yet prove fatal-by itself, but then the Frankfort School and Critical Theory supplanted Classical Western pedagogy in the universities, and future generations were subsequently affected by socialism and largely lost. The point of all this is that, the so-called Left, which has been ushering in socialism/communism for decades, is not about to quietly go away. I don't pretend to know how the Great American Civil War 2 looks, but I suspect it looks much more like the break-up of the former Yugoslavia than it does two easily defined armies, with combatants in readily identifiable uniforms. Most troubling is that I do not see how any of this can be deterred. Simply the void being filled when a democracy reaches the end of its shelf-life.

Ghost, I agree on the child rearing. I have four, now adults. I may have spanked a couple of them a couple of times, but involvement works so well it was almost never needed.
Honestly, a lot of young people would have been better raised by wolves.

Posted by: pbird at June 15, 2017 11:38 AM

@Richard, very good.
In the past 2 years I have created indexes for no less than 5 books about the various Roosevelts and all of them, every last one, was a complete asshole needing multiple punches in the face. Especially that over arrogant and continuously under performing genetic defect Theodore. If ever a persona was created by the media it is his, the sniveling little piece of rancid shit.

Regarding your last coupla sentences, I believe you are right. Rather than complete and instant collapse, or some sort of black swan event, I believe a long slow deline, unraveling, and migration away for the political norm will take place. How long will this era last? It is already happening and I'll suggest it was built-in to the democracy recipe from the very beginning.

When businesses close and people are laid off they try to find another job and collect unemployment in the meantime while looking. Soon the benefits run out but they still have not found a real *job*, what are they to do? Most people are instinctively clever and will do what they can to survive.

After selling all of their unnecessary stuff and downsizing everything they will try to do odds and ends jobs, stuff that pays cash, and doesn't require a lot of skill or smarts. As time goes by they will get better at what they do and expand as needed, and make even more cash. They will align themselves with like minded people (network) as people have always done. Little enclaves will pop up and ideas will be exchanged and viewpoints on various things will be tried and work referrals will happen. The members of these enclaves are convinced that the gov't has failed them and threw them under the bus and has broken their trust and ambition in that regard.

These enclaves will become communities in their own right and will expand and prosper as they see fit while salaciously trying to avoid any contact with any sort of gov't entities.

Maxed out debt wise and unable to steal more money from the businesses and citizens the gov't will be forced to cut back incrementally. The politicians will try to keep hold of the voters that keep them in power and will cast their financial neglect toward things that have minimal connection to the votists.

The enclaves or tribes will continue to expand engulfing entire counties and eventually multiple counties. A swingover will occur where the gov't is unable to have influence over the citizenry and many gov't employees will be killed trying to maintain control.

The dive will continue.

Gov't will become smaller and irrelevant and the tribes will become larger. People in the way will be killed or forced to leave as the enclaves expand geographically.

You have to expand your notion of what community is. It is not just the people that live close to you. I have online friends that I have know, virtually, for more than 20 years. I know them better than I know some real people. American Digest, for example, is a community. While the same people are here everyday new ones are coming aboard all the time. Some of the regulars move on or die but I imagine the through-put is always expanding. Such will be the way always if people are alive.

In my almost 30 years *online* I have met and continue to relate to many people across the US and in foreign countries and they are all part of *my* enclave as I am part of theirs. The same is true for my physical identity, I am a tribe member and I have my own tribe.

Disgust with the old way will cause people to search and find new ways, just like it has always been.

You can look at this and be fearful and wish it could last forever or you can look at it as a good thing where your life will always be as you believe it should and act accordingly.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?
This effects how you see the future.
Self confidence plays a major part too.

Onward into the void!

Certainly agree with you about all the Roosevelts but especially Teddy. What a cocky jerk he was self centered, egotistical and totally selfish. The more I find out about him the less I like him.

Posted by: Rick at June 16, 2017 6:56 AM

If you can find it for free, or at the library, check "The Golden Lad", I did the index on that one. But only if you like syrupy nonsense of the american over privileged.

Tyrant Roosevelt forced his sons to do that which he was too cowardly to do himself. His youngest son Quentin (royal brat) was pressured into WWI with the result being involved in a biplane crash that took his life.

That was the turning point for the Tyrant, he got his comeuppance, realized his fault, then died right after. Good effen riddance.

The last verse of "The Gods of the Copybook Headings" comes to mind.

Posted by: DrTedNelson at June 16, 2017 10:15 AM

DrTed,

The second to the last verse is right up there also.

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man —
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began: —
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool's bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

Thanks for reminding me about this Kipling poem.
