Now do you see why Trump surprised them?

[Check 'em off. I get all but three.]

Ask journalists when they were last in a truck stop on an Interstate , last in Boone, North Carolina or Barstow, California or any of thousands of such towns across the country. Ask whether they were in the military , whether they have ever talked to a cop or an ambulance crewman or a fireman . Ask whether they have a Mexican friend , when they last ate in a restaurant where a majority of the customers were black . Whether they know an enlisted man , or anyone in the armed services . Whether they have hitchhiked overnight , baited a hook , hunted , or fired a rifle . Whether they have ever worked washing dishes , harvesting crops , driving a delivery truck . Whether they have a blue-collar friend . Know what the Texas Two-Step is , have been in a biker bar . Notes of a Reformed News Weasel: Understanding the Vacuity | Fred On Everything

Your Say

If you count qualifying on the Hamilton M-16 course as firing a rifle, I've done all but one, most of them all my life. Never been in a biker bar. I don't think there were any of those in my heydey, the '40s and early '50s.

Of course they haven't done any of those things. I would add been in a fist fight.

With balled fists, ask the so called journalist if they have ever authored an article that was 100% truthful.

When they start to open their mouth to answer, WHAM, right in the eye.

There is no specific law indicating it is illegal to prevent a liar from deceiving you.

There is, however, a law against assault and battery in just about every state. My pointing this out should not be taken as indicating sympathy with journalists.

I propose we recognize the profession of Journalism by making a small but long overdue correction: "SECOND, we hang all the Lawyers."

@Ray: Journalism is not a "profession", and it never has been. Done well and properly, it is a craft or trade. As it performed by the hacks, blowhards, and self-absorbed leftist shills who dominate the journalistic scene today, it is at best a debased form of acting (another craft with pretensions of being a "profession"). At worst, it is nothing less than enemy propaganda. Hanging a few of the worst practitioners "pour encourager les autres" would be fine with me.

Walt, couldn't agree more - I was just mimicking the pomposity of the journ-o-list twits who fancy themselves our guardians and watchdogs. That dog needs to be put down.
