Do You Have a Moment to Talk About Our Lord and Savior, Cold Brew Coffee?First, you begin with good organic water.
I normally stop by Whole Foods or any old neighborhood market that sources all of its produce from a hundred-mile radius. I tend to get the best results from that new bottled water that they package from the drippings of lava rocks in Hawaii. Then I grind my Nicaraguan beans in a mortar and pestle. That will really preserve the coarseness without breaking into the bitter flavor pocket. (We’ll discuss bean anatomy later.) From there you just put the grounds in the water and let it sit overnight. It will be difficult, make no mistake about it. Monologue - McSweeney’s Internet Tendency

I grew up on gas stove perc. That was the highest coffee tech in the '30s. Then a career drinking aircraft coffee jug brew. No wonder it now feels like the lap of luxury to drink Folgers Instant.

I drink (4) 12 oz cups of Great Value instant every dam day.
8oz of filtered water in a pyrex for 2.22 mins in the microwave (just 1 button to push).
1 level tbsp of sugar and powdered cream
1 heaping tbsp of the mud powder
a dash of milk to cool it down
This rocket ignites and I'm good for about 4 hrs til I have to refuel again.

Ghost, why filter the water when you know that Walmart brand contains floor sweepings?

Bill, ALL coffee has floor sweepings, that's how they get their distinctive flavors. You've heard of the *cat* coffee haven't you?
We have a whole house filter - triple cartridge.
Seriously, I've tried many brands of mud, most were much more expensive, and I just prefer the flavor of the GV. Strange, I know.
My wife prefers MH Breakfast Blend in an electric percolator.
The mud helps me maintain my school girl figure.
