[Bumped] There are four tasks to be accomplished, maybe better said, four firebreaks to hold, to keep more of our cities from turning into Detroit:

riotshooting.jpg

1) Stop the cadre, 2) stop the fun, 3) prevent looting, 4) isolate and destroy the cadre. That means a particular set of rules of engagement. Those would read something like this:
Anyone seen carrying incendiaries will be shot to kill or maim. No specific additional warning will be given. Anyone dressed in a mask that prevents identification, in the vicinity of an incipient or ongoing riot, will be presumed to intend felonious activity. They will be shot to kill or maim. No specific additional warning will be given. Anyone seen wielding a weapon, including, but not limited to, firearms, clubs, machetes, knives, swords, or spears, will be presumed to intend the use of that weapon to commit or aid in the commission of a felony. They will be shot to kill or maim. No specific, additional warning will be given. Anyone engaged in arson will be shot to kill or maim. Anyone engaged in looting or encouraging looting by the breaking of safeguards will be shot to kill or maim. Riot Control: How to Stop a Riot Before It Gets Out of Hand

Your Say

OK on the first two. Arson and looting should be more specific, i.e. based on explicit behavior like the first two.

First off, assembling on a public street is already illegal.

Enforce the law!

Oh, they had *permission* you say? An authority somewhere gave them permission, for a small fee of course, to have exclusive use of a public thoroughfare? Is that what you're saying?

I see.

Round up those *authorities* and incarcerate them for an indefinite period of time, at least a year. Then banish the notion that anyone anywhere can abscond public property for specific use when it already has a PUBLIC use.

And the first person that wails about first amendment rights gets punched right in the face. Stealing from me and giving to you has nothing to do with first amendment.

You want to boycott shit? Do it on your time and your dime and leave me and mine the hell alone and if you get in front of my ride while I'm traveling a public thoroughfare, well, I guess you should have taken your life a little more seriously. srsly

If you ATTEMPT to fuk up my property little holes will be punched all the way through you faster than you can count em.

Are there any adults left in this country?

You start shooting unarmed people simply for hiding their face and I take up arms against you.

Shoot the rioters indeed! But if we're going to do so, we had better damn well be wiling to kill those funding and orchestrating events behind the scenes... no matter WHOM they are.

Who said anything about shooting unarmed people that hide their faces or riot?

Posted by: ghostsniper at February 24, 2017 2:16 PM

Fred, it is unlawful to cover your face in public. That is a crime to start. So why not shoot someone who is advertising their willingness to flout the law.

Be careful how you word this stuff. No permission to assemble on streets? No parades.

Shoot everybody who has a gun? You have to shoot yourself, Mr. Policeman.

Other than that, it seems like a good set of rules.

Say I own a store of some sort. I'm at that store conducting business and I see a group of people approaching the front with what appears to be red plastic gas cans and they commence to pouring a yellowish liquid along the front at ground level. What sane person would NOT step out there with scary black gun in hand and start capping skallz?

YOUR freedom of speech has nothing to do with ME and the minute YOU try to make it MY business is the minute an assault has occurred and at that point the dynamic changes making YOU a criminal.

City/County laws should stipulate that ALL assembly use (parades, etc.) of public property shall submit for permit at least 30 days prior to the scheduled event, and in no case shall the duration of the permit period exceed 2 hours.

This isn't rocket surgery, but rather very basic municipal chores ALREADY established by local politicians. The problem with this stuff is apparently existing laws are NOT being enforced.

I liked the ideas behind the article. It is a good set of rules that should be announced to the public over loudspeakers at the onset of a riot. I especially liked the part "However, no, it isn’t about defending property; it’s about removing the ultimate bait that turns a small riot into a huge one, which can turn a large city into a wreck."

I would amend the last item, "If caught looting, to be immediately hung within one block of the point of apprehension".

The problem is our policy in the face of riots and lawlessness by a large crowd is to contain and hopefully avoid looking bad in the news the next day. It isn't fair for the citizens and businesses who are adversely affected by these thugs. Our law enforcement/politicians owe us more than contain and look good doing it. We need to allow/mandate that the police adopt a contain and capture policy. Arrest 10, 20, 100, 200 at each of these riots and charge them with everything you can and put them in jail. It will quickly become unpopular to riot and burn and beat up citizens. I am opposed to shooting except to save lives and in self defense. I would prefer that our police serve the public but also protect the public and use force wisely/judiciously.

Arrest, process, jail (while awaiting trial - no release on own recognizance or bail), and publish charge, photo, name, and town of those convicted.

Consider RICO actions against individuals and groups involved.

At that point in time that I feel threatened for safety at my home for the sake of my family, you will see a man get mean. I have the means and the will.

Since when is it OK to wreck someone else's property because you have a jones with some one of the powers? Come at me and I'll drop your ears into your loafers.

Useful stuff, but we are no where near the place to be needing to discuss in open forum, much less make vague threats. Thats how you build a history for a prosecutor to use against you, when you are defending yourself in an ambiguous situation.

For now, observe the three S rule.
Avoid going to stupid places at stupid times where stupid people go...that would include standing around protests like at UCB.

Keep powder dry.

The Progressive Press and OFA organized, Soros funded Antifa thugz are doubling down thru the resistance...and people who get paid to do so are taking names...

I am reassured that 200+ people were arrested and charged with felonies in DC during inauguration. Portland cops charged protesters blocking commuter trains, and sooner or later Bay Area cities will burn for standing by while BlacBloc throughs molotov cocktails- and that will be on the Democrats who run those cities and the State.
