L.A.: "We're number one!"

Traffic study ranks Los Angeles as world's most clogged city

When it comes to getting stuck in traffic on the way to and from work, Los Angeles leads the world. Drivers in the car-crazy California metropolis spent 104 hours each driving in congestion during peak travel periods last year. That topped second-place Moscow at 91 hours and third-place New York at 89, according to a traffic scorecard compiled by Inrix, a transportation analytics firm.

Your Say

Not sure about that. I've driven in LA and I've driven in Manila.

I hear you, Snakepit. I've driven in LA and Jakarta, and found Jakarta's traffic far worse. Four hours for the 23 miles between downtown and the international airport is common, and I hear it's gotten worse since I left there four years ago. What always amused me were the rich Indonesians in their Lamborghinis and Bentleys sitting in the same 6-mph traffic I was in. Great for being seen, I guess, but a real waste of fine machinery (and gas).
