Traffic is the Price California Pays for Socialism

Californians already pay the most in taxes in nearly every form and facet.

Sales tax, gas tax, income tax, fees, tolls, you name it. Additionally, with more regulation than anywhere else in the country, they pay more for housing, transportation, insurance, and other living expenses, paying essentially a "regulation tax" which further erodes their purchasing power. When you point out this insanity, trying to explain to them that $3,000 for a San Francisco one bedroom apartment is insane, they are quick to explain the ingenious solution Californians have come up with to deal with these rapish-levels of taxation. They simply dismiss it all away and say, "You can't beat the weather!" (Though Bay area residents usually claim "The restaurants are great!") - - Captain Capitalism

Your Say

"You can't beat the weather!"
=============================

Uh, yes you can, just about anywhere.

I drove into LA in June of 1980 in an almost brand new Datsun 280Z and when I stepped out of the ride I felt the chill in the air - fortunately I had my down jacket with me and promptly put it on.

I had left Fort Myers, FL 4 days prior and the heat was absolutely demonic there, well into the 90's, as usual.

Couple weeks later I was sitting on Seal Beach with some friends smokin and drinkin and everybody was complaining about how cold it was and that we should leave.

Jumped in a friends cherry'd out 66' Chevelle and he pointed it at Ensenada, Mexico where we basked in the heat drunken on mezcal the whole time for 9 days straight.

The reasons californians stay is 1)the system keeps them too broke to move, and 2)they have been completely brainwashed into the whole notion of "leading the country" thing and can't get their head around the idea that they are full of shit.

Ghost, going with #2,with addendum that they are COMPLETELY full of shit, pardon my capitalized shouting. These people have given the country the Harpy Sisters-Pelosi,Feinstein,soon to be gone Boxer,a Hydra Monsteress-trocity. How many ME "refugees" will find refuge in their estates? Less than zero?

Moonbeam and his cohorts passed Assembly Bill 60 which added another 800,000 illegals on the roads. That sure helped a lot.
Wife and I lived in Northern Cal. for 3 1/2 yrs. before we were able to escape. It was in a drought the whole time.

Linda told MoonBeam:
"You're no good, you're no good, you're no good, baby you're no gooooood, I won't say it again.", but then she turned around and did just that. She shoulda jammed that machine head head in his sphincter and snapped it off.

Moonbeam introduced the concept of public employee unions the first time he was in office in the '80s. Most of the rot in government has flowed therefrom.

By the way, don't forget Lynn Woolsey, whose tenure resulted in Sonoma County being dubbed "The Leftmost County in America" by The Congressional Record.

I was raised in Sonoma County, and raised my kids in the SF Bay Area. Left CA just as my wife and I were going empty nest, and I have never looked back. We visit from time to time since our kids and most of our extended family still live in CA, but I feel sorry for them. Weather and restaurants are not enough to make me want to move back. I don't expect CA to fix its problems in my lifetime.

I've been to SF a number of times on business, where I got to try quite a few of the restaurants. Yes, they were good. No, they weren't worth moving for. Especially since I live in a state with no state income tax, in a county with reasonable property taxes, and in a town which doesn't tolerate aggressive panhandlers. The 2nd Amendment is honored, I can play golf or tennis year-round, and the local restaurants are plenty good. You can keep SF.
