John Swinton, Chief editorial writer of the New York Times from 1860 to 1870:

“There is no such thing as a free press. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who would dare to write his honest opinions. The business of the journalist is to destroy truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and to sell himself, his country, and his race, for his daily bread. We are tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping jacks; they pull the strings, we dance; our talents, our possibilities, and our lives are the property of these men. We are intellectual prostitutes.”Leaked Footage Exposes CNN Producing Fake News During First Gulf War

Your Say

Every one of them should be shot in the face.

Twice.

A liar is the worst kind of thief.

He steals your trust, and in anyone other than absolute fools, that is gone forever.

These guys are the worst sort of fucks. No respect whatsoever for the public, nor the soldiers who were in actual danger during the Gulf War. My only satisfaction is remembering how Schwarzkopf handed them their asses every time they opened their lying pie holes.

Minor, perhaps, but didn't the scuds & stuff start with the air war in '91, not '90 as referenced in the article? (Around the fifth paragraph, after the first video and ad.) At least that's what I remember when I was south of Qaysumah in the middle of nowhere.

I hate to point out the conveniently forgotten obvious, but those who said it was all lies were told to "Shut up and sing".
