The US has not faced a real enemy in a long time.
In that time the armed forces have been feminized and social-justice warriorified, with countless officials having been appointed by Obama for reasons of race and sex.Training has been watered down to benefit girl soldiers, physical standards lowered, and the ranks of general officers filled with perfumed political princes. First of all, an unmanned tank, esp. in the Russian context, is as close to a turd in a box as I can imagine. Russians are the world's leading experts on how not to do tank warfare. Armor employment, in the combined arms milieu, is very complex stuff. Only a few have ever accomplished doing it with the tenacity, swagger, and success that is needed.
America: laser surgery. Russia: ball-peen hammer.
Now, I am afraid of ball-peen hammers, don't get me wrong. But, proper assessments are in order. Fred had me at, "we haven't fought a proper enemy in a long time." Correct, there.
While we've been talking, Russia has intellectually annexed Turkey. That makes every nation surrounding the Black Sea a Russian agent. An historic "taking" of the Black Sea. The complete reversal of the 19th Century Crimean War.
I know. Who gives a shit? The Med is no longer the center of the Earth. But, neither is terrain. The center is psychological. And now you know why the Democrats are so fucking weird.
Fred: you gotta try harder, dude. The Russians have invaded plenty lately, and all unprovoked.
