The Establishment is freaking out about Donald Trump for one reason: they didn't pick him.

The utter cluelessness of the professional apologists and punditry would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic:
the more you fume and rage that Trump is unqualified, narcissistic, singularly inappropriate, etc. etc. etc., the more appealing he becomes to everyone who isn't inside the protective walls of your neofeudal castle. The people outside the cozy walls of the protected elites don't care if he is unqualified (by the standards of those who get to pick our presidents for us) narcissistic, singularly inappropriate, and so on--they are cheering him on because you, the multitudes of water-carriers for the Imperial elites, the teeming hordes of well-paid, I-got-mine-so-shut-the-heck-up pundits, flacks, hacks, sycophants, apparatchiks, toadies, lackeys, functionaries, leeches and apologists, are so visibly afraid that your perks, wealth, influence and power might drain away if the 80% actually get a say. oftwominds-Charles Hugh Smith: The More the Establishment Freaks Out Over Trump, the More Attractive He Becomes

Your Say

While it is entirely possible that the people like Brooks and Fukuyama are unaware of the attraction that Donald Trump has, the actions of the NeverTrumpers seem to eliminate that. When a movement springs up like NeverTrump that is so darned hysterical (in both common senses of the word) it is a safe bet that they are desperately afraid for something precious. And the only precious thing these throne-sniffers have is their places in the hierarchy of courtiers. A Trump election would leave them out in the cold - courtiers with out a Court to court for. They might actually have to get real jobs.
To avoid the unthinkable they are throwing everything at him.

I love your list of descriptions of these jackasses and the list reminded me of "poet" Ed Sanders' in the Johnny PissOff Credo which included:

All queers, commies, sheenies, hallies and hunkies,
All greaseballs, honkies, Polacs, lepers and beaners,
All bohunks, eggheads, fudgesicles and high-slants,
All poets, pigs, frogs, queers, peace-creeps, Cajuns,
Dwarfs, dipshits and teenage loose women!

All of whom should be added to the list.

I had two posts from folks on Facebook today, with links to the New York Times. One was Thomas Friedman, calling Trump Hitler and saying he should be assassinated. One commenter said something about the intelligence of his readership, which I thought was laughable. You'd have to be brain dead to read tripe like that.

Like never before, the Left is about virtue signaling. They talk about pretend violence from Trump and ignore Trump supporters being attacked by the folks on their side. Trump's words are evil, but Clinton's actions are just dandy. The sneering from both right and left is deafening. How dare you have a different opinion from your betters! I believe we are beyond reconciliation. I would not be a bit surprised for Clinton to open re-education camps if she is elected.

All those GOPe that are balking at or running away from Trump are the ones responsible for the mess we now have. They're the ones who held the reins of power with Bush and Bush and sat in the Congress during the interregnum twixt the Bush #41 and #43.
Mikey hit it, they're out of work with no hope of ever getting back in to the fold. The meteor of death found these dinosaurs.
