Road Trip!

natparks.jpg
This month, the National Park Service marks its 100th anniversary.
Randal Olson who's a researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, decided to mark the occasion by creating a map of the shortest possible road trip through all 47 national parks in the continental United States. The trip spans just a hair under 14,500 miles, from Acadia National Park in Maine to Redwood National and State Parks in California. Olson estimates it would take about two months to run the circuit, depending on your tolerance for long driving days. - - How to visit nearly every national park in one epic road trip

Your Say

This has to start and end in San Francisco to get the full flavor of the wildlife in America.

Illegal, all 47 of them. Show me where the feds own land, under what article? It (fedgov) is squatting on our property. Apparently we let it steal land from us and then thank it.

I useta think they were our Parks. And the people running them were with us. Not any more. Now I feel like an unwanted and invading trespasser. Who must be controlled and shackled and humiliated. After that last Government shutdown business, I'm sure of it. They all hate and despise Us. They'd all be happiest if there never was another visitor, and they'd have the place to themselves. Their Parks.

If I never visit another National Park, it'll be too soon. Oh, I'll sneak in, via the high passes and wild ways, but never by the front entrance. And fie on all their overcrowded and joyless campgrounds, er ... concentration camps.
