They love the man, but hate the manners. They want honor in retreat. Which makes the conservative movement largely a struggle for polite liberalism.

Well, it appears to have been that way but the scales are falling from the eyes of conservatives and more and more of us are ready to got to the mat when we face threats and violence.
Polite liberals will always shrink and squeal but there are millions of men and women in the conservative movement....not necessarily the GOP....who will be simply delighted to fight back.
We may be "polite" and willing to turn the other cheek, receive a wad of spit in the face and quietly endure the rants but no one should underestimate us. We'll respond in kind and we love a brawl
