So in the event of government coming to take away your guns, what must the government do?

Well, 11,000,000 people must force 98,192,000 people to surrender their firearms. That is roughly 9 gun owners for each gun ‘taker’ and 35 guns of various types for the gun ‘taker’ to confiscate.
Assume only 50% of the gun owners refuse, and you have each of the ‘takers’ responsible for 4 or 5 owners. One must also assume these ‘takers’ are willing to risk their lives to obtain your gun. That being acknowledged, I would stipulate that MOST of the takers are simply not going to risk their lives trying to force you to give up your firearms. Most are just employees, not crusaders. Crusaders abound when there is no risk of losing your life. This would be very different.

So let’s assume the military is ordered to confiscate firearms. That means 1,500,000 military, of which 65% are non-combatants. Remember, armies run on ther stomachs, maintenance and fuel supply – the number of actual, fighting soldiers is much smaller. So now we have 975,000 actual fighting soldiers attempting to take firearms from 49,096,000 citizens (remember – 50% simply surrendered their firearms earlier). This does NOT take into account any soldiers refusing to follow orders to fire on their own citizens, nor does it take into account heirloom or criminal firearms, nor does it deduct headcount for the soldiers required to man the 660 overseas military bases we currently have. If those are factored into this exercise, then the government position is even more upside down relative to the citizens. In simplest terms, each soldier must personally confront 50 families, which have 3.7 guns per household, or 1 automatic rifle versus 185 miscellaneous firearms. They won't need to go to all that trouble. No more SS checks, if you make a wage that will be with held, on and on. There will be some number of hold outs, but that will make them easier pickings because all the sorting will have been done, and in time even the last patriots will understand they have no country left to fight for.

“When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns”

This is a half-truth and understated lie. Even if all civilian guns were confiscated
the 20 million* “intelligent” felons (not including Muslims) in America will know that all decent law-abiding civilians are disarmed in their homes and all they need will be a medium sized crowbar and a knife to do their evil work.

At least learn how to use and have a gun in your house. Better yet, get a concealed weapon permit and carry for the already existent and coming progressive war on decency.

I don't have the patience, myself, to run the numbers, but it's fully obvious that something other than confiscation of all firearms would have to be done.

Now, the mind runs to nightmares of all the silliness the govt. could attempt. I can imagine armored vehicles busting into communities of rednecks, and blazes lit. How about entering the local VFW hall, and locking all of the doors while vehicles are searched?

Healthcare? You want some healthcare? How many firearms do you have at home? None? It says here you bought 1,000 rds of .223 five years ago at BPS. We'll just have to wait on that dialysis treatment until we can get a full accounting of your firearms ownership and disposal.

It all sounds ludicrous...but I'm still not at ease about anything.

All this assumes that the Government has money with which to pay all those foot soldiers. Shutting off SS or health care might have an effect for some time, not collecting any taxes has a more detrimental effect on the Gummint payroll.

All these politicians are up there in DC making pronouncements. Where are their families? Is the Government going to become a 69 sq mi enclave and try to rule the rest of the Country from there?

Even at my age I'll chance losing my life by fighting them rather than by handing them my squirrel guns and going to the FEMA camp.

If they shoot to kill, I'll only die once and I probably won't even know it. Not a big deal for me but I'm a pretty fair shot and someone on the receiving end will leave a grieving family, too.

I think if it ever came down to forced confiscation of guns en mass that the gun enhanced populace would soon figure out that fighting the police and military wouldn't be near as effective as going after the politicians, Judges and their family's. The originators of these seizure travesties should be the targets.
