MIKE WALLACE: How are we going to get rid of racism until...?

MORGAN FREEMAN: Stop talking about it. I'm going to stop calling you a white man. And I'm going to ask you to stop calling me a black man. I know you as Mike Wallace. You know me as Morgan Freeman. You're not going to say, "I know this white guy named Mike Wallace." Hear what I'm saying?

Your Say

Seems to me we already arrived at that common sense, somewhere around 1960.

But then Morgan Freeman, like me, is old enough to remember that, and no doubt scratch his head at all the ensuing victimology.

Oh well, that's probably a great idea but I won't be holding my breath.

Racism and cultural clashes make up a huge part of the stories in the Bible.

The Amalekites, the Jebusites, the Canaanites, Philistines, Persians, Jews, Edomites, Egyptians.....and on and on fought each other over land, women, beliefs, Gods, idols, water, food...you name it.

Likewise the various American Indian tribes fought and killed each other and anyone else they chanced upon and most importantly, the ubiquitous negro tribes in Africa, from which the north american version originated, hunted, killed and ate each other every day.

Wars for racial and cultural superiority are the only constant...from what I can determine....in the history of humanity and that's just the way it is. Jesus died for nothin', I suppose.

No, Jesus died specifically for all the reasons you listed. We are a fallen world. All the "man killing man" are a consequence of sin and that is exactly why Jesus died for us.

You are right that it will continue because man is selfish and sinful.

We can only strive to minimize the hate and killing and wars, etc. etc. etc. by struggling to love our fellow man.

Hank, the collective "we" is incapable of focusing its attention on the goals you state.

Here's a good article that you might enjoy:
