Your Say

A tank would cause Jeh Johnson to piss his knickers. DHS doesn't have anything to counter that.

I wonder if the turret will train forward. It is in the transport position, facing to the rear.

Better looking than a 2016 BMW 4 Series, but I wonder about comfort. Need a test drive before deciding.

I have a college chum who may or may not own an M4 Sherman. Much better. At least aesthetically.

Russian tanks are well known for having cramped crew space. Because of this, men with small stature were chosen to crew them.
Note the large road wheels, Cristie suspension, and wide tracks which gave the T-34 a low ground pressure and great off-road capability.
Far superior the to M4.

The T-34 also had a manual transmission and a very crude, smoky, but reliable, Diesel engine. It was very similar automotively to something Ivan might have seen on the collective farm. But it was was cramped, uncomfortable, and, with its 76-mm gun, not in the same league as the Tiger with its 88 or the Panther, with its high-velocity 75. But Tigers and Panthers made up only a small percentage of German armor (around 1,800 for all variants of the Tiger and about 5,000 for the Panther) and the T-34 was more than a match for the PzKw III/IV which were more common. The later 85-mm gun on the T-34 evened the odds against the more advanced German tanks.

This all reminds me that I do want a tank. Badly. My wife always asks for jewelry, but I finally fixed that. I started asking her for an army tank.

You women out there: see how absurd that sounds to you? Your mind goes immediately blank @ tanks. How could you possibly know what I want in a tank? Do I want return idler wheel suspension, or Christie? An HV main gun, or a mortar? See that? You didn't even know there were choices in tanks!

That's the way my mind reacts to "jewelry." I go completely blank.

Casey, as a lifelong bachelor, I can't exactly relate to your story, but I agree that the mention of "jewelry" makes my eyes roll back in my head.

Definitely go for the HV gun. Let the infantry mess around with mortars.
