RIP Margaret Vinci Heldt: Designer of The Beehive Hairdo

aa-dollyparton.jpg

Margaret Vinci Heldt was the daughter of Italian immigrants, and knew she wanted to be a hairstylist from an early age.
She maintained her Chicago salon, Margaret Vinci Coiffures, from shortly after her graduation from beauty school through her retirement at the age of 80. Mrs. Heldt died this week at 98. She is survived by two children and six decades of posh, odd and literally over the top hairstyles. -   - Core77

Your Say

And when I was a teenager. In the late 50's the girls in their sheath dresses and beehives were looking good.

I remember being concerned that if Dollie and Porter had bumped heads while they sang, their hair would've shattered.
