Elsewhere on Planet Earth .... Russia does have the means to close her borders.

Russia already has a very capable Border Guard Service which is subordinated to the Federal Security Service (ex-KGB).
It is estimated that the Border Guard Service currently includes 10 regional offices, 80 border units, 950 outposts, 400 checkpoints. Every day the service conducts 11,000 patrols. In total, the task of preservation and protection of borders of the Russian Federation carried out by about 200’000 border guards. This service has its own air force, coastal navy, UAV, intelligence directorate, armored units and even its own Spetsnaz forces. The reality is that the Russian Border Guard Service is more powerful than most EU armies. And now it will have the full power of the National Guard to back it. Make no mistake, Russia can, and will, if needed, lock and protect her borders. The EU’s “suicide by reality denial” | The Vineyard of the Saker

Your Say

Russia blah, blah, blah. 16% of the Russian population are Muslim. Fully 1/2 of the Army are Muslim. Good luck Russia.

Ken, Your source is?

One item in Russia favor is a willingness to shoot. No repercussions except for missing.

Where stupidity is borderless, how to educate to establish self-sustaining sanity? Schools, parents, personal experience, ... so far we're failing faster and faster.

If Trump doesn't lead the change, how will we? Will is the key.

Keep in mind the ornate and magnificent military of the USSR was later discovered to be over-hyped. In the 70s and 80s, the Soviet military had seven services to our four, and each one of the seven was bigger than our total forces combined. Turns out it was partially propaganda. Their tank forces could barely leave the tank park, much less maneuver in a hot war. Name a hot war when the Russian armor did shit-bang great.

I'll wait...

Plus, who in their right mind would invade Russia? The likelihood of a full-blown assault on Russia is near zero. Maybe they need jobs for their youth?
