It's getting ever more obvious who the real extremists are.
"I don’t think they need that big flag on the back of the truck. That’s not America to me. Those are a bunch of terrorists. So, I’m going to ask you to take the flag off that truck" said Coventry, Rhode Island Fire District Chairman Fred Gralinski at a board meeting . It is disrespectful for the firemen to fly the flag off the back of the fire engine. Our.Flag.Does.Not.Ride.Drag.
The Flag Code provides for the flag to be mounted on the right front fender of any vehicle that wants to fly it. I bet the men can figure out how to affix it to the front of the company car.

They can fly it where ever they want. Why didn't that asshole come down to the firehouse and tear the flag off the truck if he was so offended.

Fontessa -- It's one thing for someone to reprimand the firemen for not observing proper flag code. But if this guy really did refer to the firemen as terrorists, then he is a prime asshole, having revealed his pinko heart. You do realize that, don't you?

@Grizzly. Of COURSE I understand the city official was a prime asshole in calling the fire fighters "terrorists." I hope he is forced out of office for his stupid and crude remarks.
But we Americans lay that flag over the coffins of our honored dead---those who have lived a life in service to our country. It is our highest honor and our greatest sorrow. And I know the fire fighters would never intentionally dishonor the flag, but if they want to defend flying it on the fire engine (which is perfectly appropriate), then they need to fly it properly.
