"Chasmatic" Has Passed Away [Bumped]

achasaticicon.jpg
Longtime AD commenter Chasmatic is no longer with us. In February he wrote,
I will not lay on the couch whimpering or behave with a negative attitude. The following passage of scripture tells of Jesus entering the garden of Gethsemane to talk with His father, God. It reveals Jesus' thoughts and feelings of what is to become of Him the next day -- the Crucifixion -- and how Jesus accepts God's will for him. "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass me by. Nevertheless, let it be as you, not I, would have it." Then, a little while later, He said, "If this cup cannot pass by, but I must drink it, your will be done!" (Matthew 26:42). -- Spillers of Soup: THE BITTER CUP
Farewell, Chas, I'll miss your remarks and our email and see you a little further down the road.

Gerard,
Chas' passing is a real loss to the fascinating community you have fostered here. Thanks for posting the comforting evidence that he knew The One Great Thing that is above and beyond all knowledge and wisdom. The sublime adventure begins.

A good man. Makes you want to believe that no man is an island.

I chatted with Chas back channel via e-mail for some time. I sent an e-mail to him and got no return, that wasn't like him so I knew he was very sick. I'll miss him and his humor. Good-bye Leo.

...and may Light Perpetual shine upon him, Amen

Posted by: Susan Lee at June 14, 2016 4:29 PM

Ah, I will miss him, too. He was a great commentator. I reckon once he gets his halo, he will be alongside St. Michael, punching faces, especially those who need it the most. RIP, Chas.

He'll be joining his uncle in order to better comment on our foibles and frustrations here. May they both spare a thought for those of us left to muddle through these interesting times.

Peace to his soul, rest to his spirit, joy to his awakening anew in that Land where there is no more sorrow or suffering.

Godspeed, brother.

Well, now he knows, or, he doesn't. If he does may he rest in peace.

You will be missed, remembered and seen at the resurrection...

In Christ,
Because outside of him, there is no hope..

Chas neither took or gave any crap. Doubtless he was a man of courage and qualities to be emulated.
As we remember him we remember to be better than we are.
Thanks for the memories.

Rest well, Chas.

Chas wasn't afraid to bust our chops or bestow kudos ... Oftentimes, he made me mad and he made me glad. My tribute ...

“Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother,
and my sisters, and my brothers.
Lo, there do I see the line of my people,
Back to the beginning!

Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them,
In the halls of Valhalla!
Where the brave may live forever!”
