Trump is the warning shot. He’s the food riots before the revolution.

He’s the stack of letters to the editor in protest over some issue. People do not go from happy to bloody revolt overnight. It’s a process and the early stages are warnings, at least they should be viewed as warnings. If the people in Washington insist on flooding the country with helot labor, despite what’s happening in the election, the people are going to insist on building scaffolds in Washington. The Trump phenomenon is the warning.

Your Say

Hillary and Don. Is there a difference between a populist and a demagogue, other things being equivalent?
If there is, who's who in that group of two.
Will doormats continue be made of people until lampshades come back in style?

I prefer liars to speak plainly.

I said, earlier:

The Tea Party was the polite middle class.

Trump is the less polite working men and women.

What follows them is pretty darn nasty.

Many people (me included now) are tired of Waiting for Godot, for chasing the will-o-the-wisp of conservative ideology. The ideology means nothing if there is not a vehicle for it. To be plain...

If you do not win elections you do not have any power to do anything.

If my choices are to sit to the side and nurse my ideology and watch dust get driven into its face like some dweeb in a cartoon when the antagonist drives off with his girl...

Or...

Start treating others exactly like we've been treated, well then I'm not macho but I'm not a pussy either.

I am bringing this in here because I can do cut-and-paste as well as the next man. I think.

Don Surber got this first.

*Donald Trump voice*

I am speaking to all of my fellow Americans out there - I love you guys and gals, you're the tops. It don't matter if you got into one of them fancy schools or you got your GED at night - that shouldn't matter 'cause you're an American and you know, America should be working for you. I think it should, but you know, there are some people...*loud jeers*...it isn't me, I'm with you - there are some people who think that if you can't get into a fancy school you're no good...*more jeers*...I'm telling you - it ain't me! Where I come from any American kid can make something great of himself and doesn't need the permission of some board or some fancy place to do that.

Now I believe in priorities, putting first things first. A lot of people don't, but I always do. And I think a lot of politicians don't put first things first, they put themselves first.
*cheers*
Hey! I'm not done speaking here, let me finish!
*laughter*

What should be put first are American citizens - I know, it sounds so weird - asking American politicians to put American citizens first - but that's where we're at.
Something so simple - Americans should come first in America - and not Americans who went to some fancy school, or had a mommy or daddy that was in Congress. Just - American citizens come first in America and everyone else gets in line behind them until they legally, through the rules Americans set, become Americans.
Does that sound fair?
*cheers*
That sound right?
*cheers*
I knew you guys were smart.

(rest of speech continues)

All taxation should be eliminated, replaced with user fees. You use it you pay for it, if you don't use it you don't pay for it. Not *benefit*, use. Words mean things.

Strict adherence to the constitution, with penalties for infractions.

A new amendment that stipulates specific penalties, time frames, responsible persons, etc., for all violations of the constitution. I'm talking about an amendment drawn up in actual detailed contract style covering all the bases. Trump has signed some hefty contracts on the business dealings he's been involved with and I'm certain he and his people know how to do this.

Essentially, the *blueprint for the country* is flawed, it is incomplete. These flaws have allowed the ne'er do wells to circumvent the laws, to their benefit, and the detriment of the citizenry.

With theft as it's foundation, and lack of responsibility to the politicians as it's walls, the building known as america is doomed to fail.

When the Country was founded, those persons were in it for the future. Today those politicians are in it for the money. The future can be damned.

Changing that requires hanging.
