Republicans Should Take a Time Out

When I read this afternoon that Speaker of the House Paul Ryan announced (on CNN!) his reluctance to support Donald Trump,
his party's assumed presidential nominee, I knew it was time for the Republicans to take a time out, to shut up for, say, a week and let things cool off. Furthermore, hard as it may be, they should not for that period give any press interviews and they should refrain from makingany public pronouncements. (Ryan, generally a smart guy, was absolutely a sucker for Jake Tapper.) And that includes Mr. Trump, who won the primary election far more quickly than even he thought he would. He needs to take a breather to figure things out. Anybody would. | PJ Media

Your Say

pjmedia especially is going to need more than a week to figure it out.

It's been figured out. Back when those fools thought the Loyalty Oath would finish off Trump, they demanded he sign it.

Talk about petards, hoistings and such stuff, it's a delight seeing them detonate. That corrupt bunch called the GOPe is getting everything it has coming and more.

Screwing around with the nomination may not make any difference. Trump's numbers just might make a third Party work on a plurality basis.

Hillary's voter numbers are down. The FBI can send up an indictment list even if Obama doesn't want it and won't act on it. That will cause a firestorm, finish off Hillary anyway. Who's the GOPe going to drag out of the closet, Mitty? McCain? Ryan?

The Indies and cross over Donks are not going to vote for him, and the Trump supporters are not going back to the elitists.

The Social Conservatives sat out the last election and the fiscal conservatives are on board with Trump. Ryan screwed the pooch with that budget deal.

Granted there is a way to go, but as it appears, the GOP is the turd in the punch bowl.
