You either freely choose to capitulate or not. This “forced”, “coercion” bullshit is 100% candyass agitprop.You know what the solution to this is? Every parent who LOVES THEIR CHILDREN WITHDRAWS THEIR CHILDREN FROM PUBLIC SCHOOL MONDAY MORNING. It is non-violent. It is very, very doable. Workarounds to educating children outside of the public schools abound. And you know what? No one will do it. She is right. I have homeschooled my children for 16 years, and have pleaded with people for that entire time to "Get your kids out". Begged. Reasoned. Presented evidence. Offered help. Everyone had the same response: "Not our schools". "We have excellent teachers", "Band!," etc.." Most people DO NOT GET IT.

Same story here Leslie, but for 25 years. We have shown through example. My wife has published books on home schooling. She has run a website about homeschooling for 20 years. We have talked til we are blue in the face.
Just about everybody uses the public school system as a *free* day care center for their kids that they don't seem to really care about.
Notice I didn't say public education system.
Academic education is the very last thing that is attained in public schools.
With each generation the astounding ignorance is even more overt.

I never call it public school. It is government school. I have managed to get folks to at least call it that.
