A scientist is part of what the Polish philosopher of science Ludwik Fleck called a “thought collective”:

a group of people exchanging ideas in a mutually comprehensible idiom.
The group, suggested Fleck, inevitably develops a mind of its own, as the individuals in it converge on a way of communicating, thinking and feeling. This makes scientific inquiry prone to the eternal rules of human social life: deference to the charismatic, herding towards majority opinion, punishment for deviance, and intense discomfort with admitting to error. Of course, such tendencies are precisely what the scientific method was invented to correct for, and over the long run, it does a good job of it. In the long run, however, we’re all dead, quite possibly sooner than we would be if we hadn’t been following a diet based on poor advice. The sugar conspiracy

Your Say

3500 calories - 1 pound of weight, do the math.

What weighs more, a pound of fish or a pound of M&M's?
No, that's not a trick question.
Eat a pound of each at suppertime and the next morning the fish will be evacuated but the M&M's will still be with you. Maybe forever.

HFCS = high fructose corn syrup is evil and will kill you and is in almost everything you eat unless you grow it yourself, long distance from Monsanto.

In the 50's people ate lower on the vine but today nobody eats from the vine, they eat from a factory.

How many people handled the food you consumed today?

We only eat 1 meal per day and it is created *from scratch*, and I stopped drinking soft drinks 4 years ago instantly. I took a sip off one last summer and couldn't stand the extremely high level of carbonation, burnt the shit out of my tongue, and there was very little flavor to it. And that 1 swallow made me go to the bathroom 3 times over the next hour. Scary shit.

Corn syrup and processed veg. oil are what created the fat thing we have going on now. Hell, they knew in the twenties that you could create diabetes in healthy young adults by feeding them hydrogenated vegetable oil and then "cure" them by taking it away. Now people are awash in it and of course the sweet drinks. You know in Europe they use can sugar in pop. It even tastes much better.
