"Pay not to Spray": Cities Are Paying Criminals $1000 Per Month "Not To Kill"

Lonnie Holmes

Take the case of Lonnie Holmes, 21, who lives in Richmond, a working-class suburb north of San Francisco and whose four his cousins had died in shootings.
He was a passenger in a car involved in a drive-by shooting, police said. And he was arrested for carrying a loaded gun. When Holmes was released from prison last year, officials in this city offered something unusual to try to keep him alive: money. They began paying Holmes as much as $1,000 a month not to commit another gun crime. America Hits Rock Bottom: | Zero Hedge

Your Say

It's called Protection Money. And it wont be long before these effin thugs demand more than a thousand a month. Homey can't live on chump change.

Richmond, Kali. Across the Bay from Frisco. An absolute trash pile of human scum from the top to the bottom. Populated with one hundred percent protected class.

I watched a parole hearing for a woman in WA state. She was the driver of a car, and one of the passengers robbed a store. I believe they might have shot and killed the store keeper. She was sentenced to 25 years and had served 10 years. She'd gone through college while in jail and was helping other inmates with their education. By appearances, she seemed to be a good candidate for parole and seemed to be a person that would actually contribute. They denied her parole.

One of the problems with our legal system is how arbitrary it is. We have people out that should still be in jail. We have people that never even get arrested for breaking the law. We have people in jail that would be able to be productive citizens with a little support, but somehow, they seem to have a harder time getting out.

Good heavens, that young black gentleman must be Danish, even if he doesn't look like one.

The Chinese would have put a bullet through his worthless head and charged his family for the bullet. Cheaper than a thousand a month by a long shot.

JWM, it will soon come to that. A government so corrupt cannot stand much longer, one side or the other will knock it down. Then the fun starts.

What ever government is left will have to resort to summary justice.

Pay them money to refrain from crime?

Bullshit....I'd simply put DeMarco, Tyrone and Jafavius in fetching FUBU road gang togs, link them together with a heavy iron chain and a nice thick ankle bracelet, give them a sling blade, a rake and a shovel and work them 7 days a week clearing highways of weeds, trash and junk until they were old mens.

I'd put the politicians who conjured this idea into an insane asylum.
