Coulter: "The world's biggest lie: that John Kasich is the embodiment of the Republican Party, while Donald Trump is the bastard stepchild."

It's exactly the opposite. It is no longer a question of what the party wants.
The voters -- remember them? -- keep showering Trump and Cruz with Ceausescu-like percentages. The combined vote for Trump and Cruz is a ringing chorus of what this party wants: a wall, deportation, less immigration and no job-killing trade deals. In other words, what the party wants is the diametric opposite of what the donor and consultant class wants. One would have to search the history books to find a party establishment so emphatically rejected by the voters as today's Republican Party has been. Enough with the *party* stuff already, I mean, it's bad enough that some weren't sharp enough to notice the party bus left the bldg back in the 90's, but by now everybody should have already been aboard. IOW, there is no more party, and even the reminders of it aren't painful any more.

I cannot figure out why those that call themselves Conservatives keep voting the Republican line. Even back when Reagan won, the GOP tried to push him back into the shadows.

Voters are seen as a threat to their power unless they toe that thin line. With Trump this isn't the case and the battle is joined.

The GOPe will lose the election in order to keep their positions of power.

I can't figure out why anyone votes at all and never have been able to figure it out.

When I ask people why they vote they get sort of sheepish about it and offer answers that would be expected from a child or adolescent, not an adult.

Stuff like, "Well, you have to vote for SOMEBODY.", or "It's the American way.", "I'd rather have A in charge than B.", (Then lo and behold B wins!, so much for that retarded theory.) and this one always kills me, "If you don't vote you have no right to complain." (People that don't vote are some how responsible for the behaviors of the politicians they didn't vote for!)

See what I mean?

Silliness.
None of them actually answer the question.
They only offer stuff they've heard/read elsewhere.
No thinking required.

I have never voted and never will.

Nor have I sliced my wrists or given all my stuff away or murdered anyone.

So I live each day knowing that there are a whole slew of people all over the place that care so little for their lives that they are willing to surrender large aspects of them to arbitrary others.

I voted a few times, but swore off finally. For similar reasons to ghost's.
