CoNTs: This brings us to the Cult of Never Trump, known on-line as #nevertrump

and billeted at on-line sites like the Federalist, National Review On-line and The Blaze. Like every cult, the adherents are convinced beyond all reason that their cause is based in indisputable mathematical truths. These truths are so obvious, they repeat them with a regularity that resembles a chant. Every CoNT I’ve encountered says the exact same things, like they rehearse them. - - | The Z Blog

Your Say

It ain't CoNTs.
It's cunts.
Whiney little cunts.
They're selling wolf tickets like there's no tomorrow and somebody's getting ready to call them up on it.

Long, hot summer.
Next summer will be hotter, but shorter, for many.
We're wearin' this Dillon out over here.....

I don't know how you do it, Gerard, the NeverTrump vitriol, it is indistinguishable from the Lefty histrionics. But you're on there trolling like a boss. For me, to paraphrase Chief Joseph, "I will tweet no more forever."

I hate that all this friendly fire is taking place. I had to park a bunch of accounts until after the primaries are settled. Levin, CR, Ricochet, Never Yet Melted, Ace of Spades... I love those guys but they've gone off the deep end. They're like a broken record and I can't stand it.

Even Cruz with his "Trump brought this on himself" insinuation after Chicago or Shapiro running with a hoax story because it reflected poorly on Trump... these are people that I believed in that tossed their own supposed values under the bus. I think you see people's true colors when they are desperate.

I'll vote for whoever is left standing at the end and hope that everyone comes to their senses. Otherwise Conservatism and the GOP deserve their place in permanent twilight.

They are calling Trump just about every name in the book; there is only one left to call him: Mr President.
You can find me on the floor laughing my ass off.

In addition to the obvious struggle to retain power, a few things appear to be in operation (in no order):

A. Americans are divided into roughly two camps: 1) those who believe America still has life in her and can afford to engage the Left with a pretense of civility, as it has in the past, and 2) those who realize that America is out of time---in the shit, bleeding out, on its last gasp---and that we must take serious countermeasures against the Left before we run out of legal remedies and life gets very interesting, indeed.

We're in the shit right now = Trump voter.

B: We have forgotten that many 'conservatives' are not so much Conservative as they are Neo-Conservative: they're disaffected Leftists that have had no place else to go. Conservatism was never their native worldview, and they still cling to much of their innate leftism. (That may be a key reason Conservatism has eroded over the last three decades, as many of these people, working in the conservative media have---wittingly or unwittingly---participated in polluting the conservative ideal.) These are the guys who'd vote for Hillary, or even Bernie, in preference to Trump.

C: The Republican party is full of purists and rare birds of various stripe: cretins who never vote, have never voted, or who will never vote unless a candidate passes some impossible test of intellectual or moral purity. This includes Paleo-Conservatives and, especially, certain types of Christians who find it impossible to vote for someone who represents only 84% of their interests; it also includes Christian fatalists who believe that muscular measures against evil are never justified---God will sort it out---even if it means forfeiting their own lives. (The commandment is correctly translated as 'Thou shalt not murder', not 'Thou shalt not kill'. We're allowed to fight back.) So they'd rather effectively surrender an election to the Left and lose all their rights rather than vote for a less than ideal person who would get in the mud to battle their enemies and assure their continued right to vote against materialist evil.

I would suggest these folks bone up on two millennia of church history, where they will discover the all-too-imperfect nature of those who have, over the centuries, defended existence of the church. God works through imperfect people; can we do less?

D. Idiots, we're surrounded by idiots.
