If the military - its soldiers - are anything, they are resilient. But the weakening pointed out is a fair analysis. All of this, and low morale, makes the case for defeatism.
Looks like I may have to stand the barricades, myself. I always did think the army went to hell the day after I got out.

If they closed down the occupation of half the globe- why are they still occupying Germany, Italy, Japan etc?- 1000 bases in 130 countries, perhaps they could defend the borders of the US.
