After 9/11, Americans trusted government to make things right, and the government failed miserably.

Two wars, big debts, a sour economy, Obamacare, a Supreme Court that upheld Obamacare, Christians being forced to bake cakes for gay weddings -- what the heck is this? Don Surber: Jeb Bush knows it is over

Your Say

I remember the enthusiasm I had when Bush was elected. Finally, the windows of the WH would be thrown open and the dank air of 8 years of the worst history could offer would be expelled. Naively I expected Bush to prosecute the crimes of the previous occupants. He immediately did nothing of the such. Instead, he started his own reign of terror and the last vestiges of political hope were swept away.

I cut my teeth on Ronald Reagan, Rush Limbaugh, G Gordon Liddy, Newt Gingrich, Bob Dole, and many others and was retardedly sure that if "the right people" were in office things would finally be alright.

George Bush tore the faith in the american way right out of my heart and slammed it in the meat grinder and turned the motor to high. I was never the same again.

After a lot of research and even more quality time with myself in deep thought I came to the conclusion that democracy itself is the fatal flaw. The idea of majority rule. It is wrong.

I feel stupid for not realizing this sooner.
It is NEVER right for one or more person(s) to rule over others. Ever.

Words have specific meanings.

Do you want to be ruled?
Nobody else does either.

So how can democracy (majority rule) ever be right?

It can't, and if you're truthful to yourself, you know it.

start with the realization that the two political parties are PRIVATE entities. Who in hell says they get to choose who gets on the ballot, who has the line on the ballot. Why should the League of Women Voters have any say in anything about elections.

The Local Government role is to provide a place for anyone who wishes to run to put their name in the hopper.

Tip O'Neil had it right when he said "All politics are local." going with that, we can get rid of most of the Federal Government.

Defense, coinage and interstate commerce we need it for those departments. The mail, no more. With e-mail and Fed-Ex/UPS and soon drone delivery, were set. No more junk mail from politicians.

Junk mail and flyers make good fire starters and bonfire burners. I shred it, then in a home made compacter, I squish it down into solid 12"x12"x12" cubes, wrap with bailing twine, and stack them in the shed.

Home made compacter: old steel dishwasher frame (reinforced), 5 ton bottle jack upside down, piece of 1/2" plate steel.

Throw a gob of shred in there, compress, release, add more, compress, repeat til full. During last compression wrap with the twine, sideways and top to bottom.
