"I have faith, if not confidence, that Enlightenment Liberals still believe in class, noblesse and society."

For several years I've been looking for an elevated Left.

I don't think I'll ever be satisfied but I have faith, if not confidence, that Enlightenment Liberals still believe in class, noblesse and society. So whoever, wherever such people are, I'm happy to join with them in opposition to the kind of shrill blowhard that is Trump. I don't blame America for having credulous people and I don't blame the people for being angry or feeling that Trump expresses that anger well. It's simply that we should all know that great leaders don't scream. Helpless people scream. And I sincerely believe that Donald Trump is the kind of helpless person who simply cannot understand the limits of his power. He thinks that he can do in government what he cannot do in real estate or entertainment, and for those questions that make him itch, he wants the power to make the itch go away. Now. Trump's Head - Cobb

Your Say

Mr. Cobb cannot be honest with himself and write that the obozo is a world class a** hole and failure. He also states in a comment that he (Mr. Cobb) "was (past tense) a Conservative".

Yes Obama is a failure, yes I am a past-tense conservative. But I'm also not the fool who expects different results from the same failing GOP. My favorite Republicans ever were George Schultz and Dick Cheney. Show me a man like that today, and he has my vote. In between elections, I have too much life going on to give that much of a shit about whatever Ron Paul is blathering about. The GOP is the party that has delivered the stunning mediocrities of Dennis Hastert and Tom DeLay and the pathetic screwball comedy of a dozen others. I can only say that the most serious success of Republican since the Awakening is the nomination of Chief Justice Roberts, and I can't think of anybody less likely to follow up that home run than Donald Trump.

You are confusing "Republican" with conservative. The Republican party hasn't been conservative for decades.

The Republican Party has been offshoot Democrat for decades.

"Show me a man like that today, and he has my vote."

===================================

He chooses the boot that will weigh on his own neck.

What can you say about those that are programmed so?

Nothing.

But you do have to take permanent measures to make sure he will never cause you grief.

It's coming.

Among other things, Trump is a loudmouth. Better to wake the sleeping hard-of-hearing that their house is on fire.
Some of the other things he may well be: patriot, unyielding in opposition to cowards.
